Now I know Mike Ashley is God and everyone love's him but the release date for the new kit got me wondering..

..Why May 19th? Last year it was the back end of July!

"Because it's a few days before the last game of the season" I here you say.. quite possibly

What if Mike Ashley is being a retail genius? What if he want's us all to rush out and buy this strip before the summer transfer window where he sells Tiote, Barton, Enrique & Jonas?

Call me suspicious but I don't trust the fat man as far as I can throw him.. which isn't very far, Obviously!

Or he's using the shirt sales revenue as the transfer fund?

Wouldn't like to get the shirt until end of transfer window when squad numbers have been confirmed etc. Just in time for my birthday in september :D

Why don't people buy it now (May 19th) and wait for the squad numbers to be confirmed before adding a name and number?

Thought this would be sensible really..!?!?

You get the name and nunber on cheaper if you do it when you buy the shirt.

Yes, I get this but for the people who want it now but want a number too and are moaning about who to get incase they leave. They should just wait until the window closes or the numbers are confirmed etc..

I probably will stick with my vintage 1926/27 memorial shirt, as I don't like the iron on/peel off badges and logos!!

I think the younger ones that get it off their parents should pool together to get it for the older ones.

    No European competition!

We all saw the strip, and wanted it for summer holidays, couldn't get it and thought '**** it, i'll buy this (random international competition shirt) instead' ... Then after the WC has ended, out comes the Newcastle shirts and everyone rushes to buy their 2nd shirt in as many months!

I'm going to make my own.

I say I, but I've managed to get some small children to do it for me.

    Far cheaper.
