If you want a laugh read Marko's biography on his profile page. Priceless. You'll know what I mean when you read it.
You're the one who was telling everyone who happened to disagree with you to **** off. Hardly civilised behaviour I'd say. It just makes you look rather hypocritical and really dim.
How can anyone outside the top 5 compete with this sort of funding? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20464096 Can't see GFH parting with £3M a season let alone £30M
You were the one coming on here calling us all delusional and generally being a prick. What kind of treatment do you expect? It's hypocritical of you to make such a statement and call me a hypocrite in the process. Why don't you just slump off back to that ****hole you call "'ull"
Fact of the matter is, regardless of how well we may or may not do in the top flight should we get there, we have to get out of this division first, which takes more than a smile. Yes we now have money, but money doesn't guarantee success, look at Leicester. Once we get out of this league we might just be able to start dreaming. For now though, I don't see the point in speculating on what might happen should we get promoted. We haven't earned the right to dream because we're not promoted yet. Just the way I see it
The way I see it, daring to dream might just about bring positivity back to the club, which is what it will take to get us out of this division.
Sensible post Kiwi Marko, supporters of every club dare to dream that this season they will get into/back to the Premier League. It takes more than that
Well **** me a sensible, well thought out post. Marko's been watching too many Derren Brown programmes, what will all this PMA baloney. A very good manager and squad get you promoted, not 'believing' you should get promoted. That's you ****ed for the time being then. Is it me or does he come across as a bit mental? Maybe he's related to Doris Stokes or Yuri Geller or something ?? Mind over matter.
Marko is bound to be optimistic and have high hopes, we have spent 10 years without spending any money on anyone we have sat there watching best player after best player leave the club and tbh its been down right awful. For once we have something to look forward to and we look at where we have been in the past and believe we can get there in the future, is it unrealistic that a club like leeds united can get into the top 6 of the premiership? No I don't think it is and its not being arrogant its the players we can attract with correct funding that will get us that bit further up the table than the likes of mentioned teams such as Fulham, Everton, nobody put a time limit on it however and like Kiwi said lets get outta this division first.
Your average player's rather gonna join an ambitious, upwardly mobile club than anyone else - correct? And if they have a choice between more than one club of that nature, they'll go for the club with the bigger profile/reputation - correct? So Leeds are in a very good position from that perspective. I suggested there'd be at least one vacancy there, not that every or most teams would implode. Totally different clubs. As Marko says, we're analogous with Newcastle if anyone, and they haven't done badly for themselves. I think you'll find that legends cannot be liquidated, for they live on in the people who are enthralled by them. Do you say the same stuff about MK and Wimbledon perchance? I have to say this so many times to so many people. Burnley and Huddersfield now have totally localized fanbases and no-one gives a solitary **** about them. Leeds on the other hand are still a worldwide support and are known/admired/despised from Norfolk to Nigeria to Nicaragua. Specifically, that fanbase translates into a good financial situation for Leeds, and we all know how important money is in the modern game. This merchandising and ticket revenue, being a pure income stream as per the FFP regs, means that we immediately have an advantage over 95% of Football League/Premier League clubs. Burnley, Huddersfield, Wigan, even Sunderland and Everton can't compete with us on that. Nor can they compete with an Academy like ours which pulls from a huge population on our doorstep, and when our club gets some momentum we will actually be able to retain the type of players Bates failed to keep in his failed tenure, because we'll have the pull and fiscal clout to reciprocate their talent with our ambition. Young players like Delph, Taiwo, Woods, Swann, Kebbie and Garbutt who were unwisely persuaded by agents to further their careers where the big bonuses were. Not ideal to have to give bungs to those leeches, but preferable to the ****e we've had to suffer, and I am confident there will be an upturn in that department which will give our club a distinct edge over the Norwiches, Hulls and Millwalls of this world. Furthermore our training facilities, stadium and community links are superior to all but five or six other clubs - our city perfect for a footballer - which is another reason players will be attracted, and another reason why our supposed arrogance is actually derived from solid fact. Leeds United will never be, like you say, 'just another club'. You're not anti-Leeds, you're just Leeds-ignorant. They have a wealthy backer, you clart. The money will deal with itself when we're back in the top flight, just as it did with the Geordies.
Fanbase - yes Trophies - no Training facilities - yes Academy - no Profile/reputation - yes So overall, yes.
Current manager, team, stadium and division? Being a tad selective there old wouldn't you say old sport?
No, because those things make you a good club, not a big club. Different things altogether, aged legume.
I hear what you're saying but if say Pep Guardiola became the next Leeds manager is it feasible that you might hear, 'Look at our manager, goes to show we're a big club'. On the flip side if you got some no mark from the conference you might hear, 'We're too big a club for him' There is a correlation between the size of the club and the standard of manager. You have to look at the present when determining what is and what is not a big club IMO. Not the past or the future. To be honest I've not got that across all that well but you know what I mean.
I get your point but it kind of sounds like you're saying we haven't got a good manager at the moment? I know we haven't had a good start to the season but in terms of his CV you're not going to see many better managers at this level.
