If they are still desperate by that point. They are ****ed because they are stacked with under-performing players, but they are all on astronomical wages so no team will touch them, meaning they wont be able to offload any or make anything resembling a profit on them. And they may need to just bring in some more horribly overpaid players, unless Harry makes a few of his more shrewd signings and not any of the 'throw money at the problem' signings.

They have the financial backing to keep them safe, but if Fernandes and Mittal jump ship, they would be in horrible shape.

And they make extremely obvious choices - managerial and players. That's one of the things I have always loved about Saints - we tend not to go for the obvious. That's more the West Ham, Stoke, or QPR model - have always been a bit disappointed when we signed journeymen like LeSaux, Wise, Hughes etc.

It was so that Nigel Adkins could be correct. He said, before the QPR game... I'm pretty sure come Monday that both managers will still be in situ. He was right.

BTW, Harry's set for talks: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20466488

QPR buy a whole new team in every transfer window anyway. They bought a team to get promotion, bought a team to keep them up, sacked Warnock so Hughes bought a new team, and this season he's bought another new team. It's no wonder they're lacking any kind of cohesion.

I think the criticism of Hughes player buying was that nearly all of the players were bench sitters. Not one real fighter amongst them.

so the new guy or the caretaker will takeover the happy troops today and play tomorrow probably the toughest game of the season at Old Trafford- great timing by the power that be, surely it could have waited until Monday as even Hughes is better (just) than no manager at all, great for us because a mauling tomorrow could really effect thier morale

Didn't mind Hughes either. He was a playing legend, after all, so great experience, even though the goals dried up.
Just I think I prefer not to go in that direction if we can ever help it.

I just sit and dream about the days when players like J-Rod and Clyne reach their full potential instead. Unfortunately, they then leave.

But in a way, they could chalk this one down as a loss whatever the circumstances, so should have no real effect on the result, and then give Harry over a week to get in there and write his Christmas list, and count this game at Old Trafford as his first examination of the team (instead of making that the following week's game).

I think this is actually a poisoned chalice and feel that Redknapp may struggle. Granted that he did well to lift Spurs from near the bottom of the table when he took control, he had a pretty decent squad to begin with. Whilst I would agree that he will be given money to spend at QPR in the January window, I will be fascinated to see if he can turn around the Ranger's fortunes. Obviously, the press will mark Redknapp down to transform Rangers but I wonder if he ends up failing in his objective as he did with Saints - that will make a big dent in his reputation. Finger's crossed!

They'll probably be willing to invest a lot more in the squad. Let's wait and see who he tries to sign in January.

Redknapp trying to manage an underperforming team to safety? Sound familiar?

I wonder if 'Arry would give old Barton a second chance at some stage?

I dont think it will go as swimmingly as previously mentioned. QPR have bought in way too many players alrady, and i suspect they will bring in even more over paid top club rejects, this will in turn infuriate those who have been bought in the last 18 months as they are shoved in to the reserves, squad harmony will be non existant and very bitter, causing feuds and probably will be rival groups at training who do not get on.

I would hate to manage that piss poor situation. They may well buy some sort of safety, but long run will be a shambles. There is no way they can maintain there ridiculous budget with low finishes in the premier league, the smallest income from the stadium and the smallest fan base in the premier league in London, possibly even clubs lower leagues with more fans. To me, it is a club which does not have immendiate aspirations of huge growth, like Chelsea did when Abramovic took over, where they were already in European competition. And within five years if they are not competing in Europe then they will fall down the leagues like bricks off a skyscraper!

I'm not generally a fan of sacking managers, but he had to go, struggled in pretty much every game they've played for ages.
