Bowkett was talking about how much hard work CH is putting into the job, and this remark was by way of illustration -- see the report on EDP24. Whether he meant the comment to be taken literally, and was saying that CH had in actual fact been to "some obscure Belgian club looking at a player [Bowkett] had never heard of" I cannot say. I took it as just a rather jokey way of saying that CH has been looking at players on the continent. <ok>

And even if he had, it's hardly as if Belgium is on the other side of the planet. He could be there and back after watching the game in a day.

Sorry but if you look at belgiums national side its certainly nothing to take the mick out of... Kompany, hazard, vertonghan, witsel & miralles to name a few! Just like all leagues, there will be hidden gems within that league and if its one were looking at and will improve our side then I'm all for it no matter where he's playing <ok>

if Hughton went there to watch a match, he was watching one, or more, particular player. he wouldn't be going on the off chance, his time is too important. the scouts have reported back to him and he wants to check for himself.

And avoid paying the inflated prices in the Belgian Monk!!!! <cheers>

Some VERY interesting happenings going on at CR and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, beginning with our trip to Goodison tomorrow. If pushed, I'd say we won't lose and could even win by the odd goal - hope Turner is fit to start, but quite happy for R Martin or R Bennett to deputise.

Up and coming nation, I remember watching Standard Liege against Liverpool back in 2008 when it was Felliani and Witsel running the midfield even though they drew 0-0 they absolutely dominated Liverpool, they played some great football.

De Bruyne and Courtois look as though they are going to be very good players too.
