Club has announced them now, first game covered will be the Boxing Day game. Prices aside, better effort from them having it available a month before Xmas and starting straight after so that they can be proper presents that people can keep quiet about when they've bought them for partners or kids. http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/half-season-cards-2013-503598.aspx
They really should have just done this from the start. Here they offer all kinds of season packages from the beginning.
Yea. Here it is standard to offer lots of different season ticket package types from the start of the season. Since everyone can not afford to buy a full season there are half season, quarter season packages. There are also packages that will include all the really popular games, or packages that have all the unpopular games. Obviously the full season package is the best deal but having lots of options helps fill the stands.
Obviously we have the full season tickets. We've only had 8 home games and they've done at least one offer earlier in the season for if people bought tickets to more than one game (P'boro and Blackpool springs to mind), and at least two games have been Category C which makes them cheaper than normal (I'm counting Palace because they've been promoting it so I should probably say we've had 9 home games, which I bet if we win this weekend the classification as a Cat.C game is looked back on as a mistake).
I can't remember the exact details, but I recall a few seasons back reading a discussion between Tranmere fans and they had a scheme that catered for a season pass you could buy at the beginning that covered you for a number of games through the season. I guess it knocked off your 'credit' with use or something? I could have imagined it, but I think they also had one that was dicounted because of distance travelled, although that could be one that they were discussing the opportunity of bringing in...my mind's not what it was...it used to be stuffing in the sofa...
That could possibly swing it for me - the £60 travel per home game means I gave mine up this season for the first time since Swansea (h) in league 2
Costs me abut £20 a game, but living 270+ miles from the KC I'd be in favour of reduced prices for those who have to travel. I'm sure Johnfirth and Roo would as well.
at the beginning of the season they're looking to sell as many full season passes as possible. those passes are tied to seats. if we had terracing or people sat where they wanted there'd be no problem, but the way things are they won't know what seats are going to be available until demand for full season passes ends.
That assumes that offering the other packages would cut down on the demand on full season tickets enough to make the extra profit on the partial season ticket prices not worth it. Now if you were selling out every game with full season tickets like the Washington Redskins do (3 year waiting list for full season tickets last I heard) then I would understand. I think it is strange that every sports team in this country offers deals like that from the beginning unless that team is one of the teams with large waiting lists. I am not saying that this model necessarily fits the KC but considering every season everyone complains about the prices and how they cant afford the full season packages and have to settle for a few games and then get excited with half season plans or C level games then one would think that perhaps packages like they have here would be something to look at. I am not saying I am correct but I am certainly not joking.
fair enough. i just don't think it would work here as a pre-season option. i'm assuming there's a limit on the number of seats that are sold to passholders. if they're all sold for the full season it wouldn't leave any at all for the second half. this season is unusual as the season pass sales were down and crowds have not been good. the fact we're doing well means some who didn't get a pass might be prepared to buy a half season one. the offer won't happen every season because there may not be the spare capacity.
I think we should do a four match discount pass at the start of the season, it's more likely to get people on board for the rest of the season. While we're not selling out, I'd also offer season ticket holders the chance to buy half price tickets for any game.
I didnt know there was a limit on the number of passholder seats. If there is a limit then clearly my idea isnt all that bright. Is that an FA rule or something?
