Alan Hutton joins Nottingham Forest until January. Former Tiger Josh King joins Blackburn for a month. Blackpool sign Bournemouth forward Wes Thomas on loan with a view to a permanent. Thomas played for Michael Appleton at Portsmouth on loan, where he scored 3 goals in 6 games. Leeds United have brought in centre half Alan Tate on loan from Swansea. Danny Wilson has joined Bristol City on loan from Liverpool for two months. Sheffield Wednesday have made a double swoop, bringing in experienced striker Mamady Sidibie from Stoke and up and coming defender Jeremy Helan from Manchester City on 28 day loan deals. Finally, Damien Delaney has earned himself a new contract at Palace, signing a one year contract extension. Doesn't look like we've missed out on anybody who could really improve our squad, I think Stockdale could improve our squad and we've probably got enough to see us through until January.
I think the best deals of the day would be Hutton, Stockdale and Jerome Thomas (you missed that one, we signed him from WBA). Hutton has been so unlucky not to be playing in the prem, I think he is such an underrated player
Who? Hutton? He was quality at Spurs but got injured at the wrong time and never was able to get back into the team, played sporadically there for a while looking good everytime he got the opportunity but Redknapp never saw him as first choice, moved on and looked good again and Lambert dropped him for no apparent reason and has now loaned him out. I thought Elmo was a RM or RWB, Hutton is a RB
You could fit a music festival in the space that Alan Hutton leaves him behind him, he's absolutely terrible.
I've been a fan of Thomas ever since his trial with us a few years ago. Still think we should have signed him
Hutton's on £30k a week until August 2015 and hasn't played a single game for Villa this season, it's no wonder clubs are losing so much money. I like Thomas, I thought he looked really good in his trial and I was amazed we didn't sign him(CityCalv - He's scored 11 in 89).
Just seen that, you're right. My mistake I had seen somewhere that he hadn't scored for them, this is why I aren't a journalist.
We turned Thomas down because we got Hunt instead, which turned out pretty well. He's a good player though, shame he had to go to Leeds.
We declined Thomas several weeks before we signed Hunt, though had we signed Thomas we almost certainly wouldn't have signed Hunt.
I'm pretty sure that was the reason though - even if we didn't complete the Hunt signing until a bit later, it was more or less agreed a lot earlier. I'm sure I remember PB explaining it at a later date.
