I didn't imply that Liverpool had won a game through Suarez diving, though I doubt you would argue that teams have won due to this! I use the term winning as to cover a team gaining an unfair advantage in the game, whether they win it, or draw, or lose the game, they still get an advantage in the penalty!.............
I didn't say the media where saying it, I said that Liverpool fans where stating this in their comments on media coverage, post match articles online press etc, where you can leave your comment!.............
You've broadened your point Phill(fair enough),but are you saying that only LFC have benefitted from players taking a dive?, if not say so, because you'll look daft if you think other teams players don't look for easy free kick, pens etc.
Kopite not sure if your in the real world here! are you trying to say he never said such things? Have you actually played? are you saying that Racist comments are not said in games? and are you saying he's an innocent man? because I all though not having proof, I'd still find it difficult to say, he did not make such Racist comments!................
I'm using your Suarez as an example of all that's wrong on this issue, that much surely you can see, it's something we need to get out of the game, and it's a difficult one for the Ref, but he's your problem, if you want to defend his behavior then fine, but if he was here at Swansea, he would be out on his arse, he'd be given time to cut the cheating out, failing which he'd be on the transfer list, we jacks don't stand behind such a player, and I've seen enough of Suarez diving Video's to know that Ashley Williams should be commended for raising the issue!...............
Ok, can't be arsed posting a link to the FA hearing, but in answer to your question he was guilty of FA charges that he used a 'word' that was acceptable within the South American culture but not ours, so fair cop he was fined and banned. In a British court of law though the context would have came into play and he would have walked away with no case to answer. If however he was British and called him a ni**er that would have been totally racist with no cultural differences brought into the equation. But whatever.
Well there is some mitigation there, though I'm sure he new it was not acceptable over here, (when in Rome) but he then goes on to add insult to injury! Handshake??? Remember! Sorry but he's not the sort of player I would defend or ever want at my club! Brings far too much reproach on the good name of your club, we have had one or two of these in the past, but their soon kicked out! granted not so high profile as Suarez, but we had one bad egg, in Leon Knight, and he was soon shown the door!..................
Anyway, the racism issue aside as it's nothing really to do with the issue at hand. Suarez is a cheating, diving prick and Ash has openly said so. Good on him I say
Good night kopite, I'm sure Suarez days are numbered! When you've got better goal scorers, he'll be history............
Thats easy,he used the persons colour to insult, the defination of the words used mean it was a racism slur, look up the definition of the Word. If he is coloured himself it doesnt mean he can use certain terms on another person. Being latino and calling someone from an african fuktige a name still doesnt make it right, the beleive that the person is superior by using a derogertory term to another in terms of colour or race proves it. If surez did nothing wrong then There would by no issue on the subject. To compound it all he then refused to Shake the guys hand in the following game.again proving he felt superior.
Phil I think several posters need to realise we've been debating the Suarez thing for a long time now against much more fervent opposition (United fans). At the end of the day, the only person who knows the truth of his own intentions is Suarez, the half black member of a black family, with many black friends.
Rev i accept what you say about his intentions and nobody knows but himself. But its not what he meant it is how it is received and that doesnt even have to be the player offended it could be someone sitiing in row a. if anyone is offended by a comment that is about, race, colour, nationality or ethnic origin. then it can be racism. So in effect it doesnt matter what Suarez intended it is how Evra perceived the so called comment. thats just my view.
forget the fact that he is a diver (most south americans are) , and all the baggage, he is the best player in the premiership at the moment and is turning those countless shots he has into a few goals....... as for the notion liverpool should get rid of him because he's a ****, what a ridiculous notion, without him they would have zero cutting edge as opposed to 'barely any' - the value of, and power of players is far too great, as if they'd sack £40m + worth of player! dont wish to open a can of worms here but: just my opinion but i thought evra snubbed him as he dropped his hand from the position he used to shake all the other players hands. look carefully at the position of evras hand in relation to the AON logo on the shirt. thats my opinion, shared by many others. Have you heard that you ignorant Welsh plebs? The Rev has been discussing this with Man U fans so you ignorant Welsh plebs know nothing about the issue. Just shut up and know your place.
Sorry Swamp, but I don't see it like that in the slightest. I don't think Suarez was taking any notice as to what level he held his hand in comparison to others, and why would he? Evra had his hand out, Suarez refused it. I honestly can't see how it can be perceived any other way. You need to get out more
