Still nothing official and the loan window closed at 5pm. On the Port Vale official site states they have only signed Liam Chilvers.
Having just logged on in the last half hour and not knowing how the loan window works should we be worried that nothing is showing on the OS yet? I have also checked the BBC Website that has listed a lot of loans and nothing about us. The only sources I can find are on kentnews and Kentonline. Surely an official annoucement would be made by now if the window closed at 17:00?
Vale have confirmed on their O/S that the deal for Lee Hughes has not gone through (well, they said 2 deals were not okayed and they've only signed Chilvers). It sounds like we may be in the same boat with Wrighty.
Radio Kent have said that the deal did not go through, and the club were making further efforts this morning, but have now acepted its not going to happen.
No,we'll leave it til the last possible minute to get the cheapest fee, then we'll miss the deadline.
Surely that has got to go down as one of the biggest disappointments this season. It was obviously clear to us and the club we needed him and what with probably our most challenging period coming up, I hope some explanations are forthcoming in this new open approach in the reasons for not making that 5pm deadline.
That is such a shame, good that Lee Hughes deal fell through as that would have been even more annoying if it only happened to us.
How two (allegedly) professional football clubs cannot work together on a 'done deal' in getting the paperwork sorted before the deadline is beyond me.
Totally agree brb, think its a massive disappointment and i also feel we needed him back sitting in front of the back four. Form has clearly dipped as of late and i believe that in the 7 games he played we only shipped 3 goals!
If he does join in January then he would have had a couple of months with no first team football. All down to Montrose now. Lets hope he does not get injured or Jack Payne will have to start training with the first team rather than the youth team.
