At the risk of sounding like I'm taking the piss (and I am not), what is that based on?

What the OP is saying is that we have an opportunity to get to the top and stay there, with the right strategy and application of that strategy. Bates leaving couldn't have happened at a better time.

    History mate <ok>

For example, in season 1937/38 when Leeds finished 9th in Division 1, their average attendance was around 21,000. We were a Division 3 (South) club....and averaged 22,500. In season 1938/39, Leeds' average had dropped to less than 20,000. Ours was up to 26,500, and would have been a few more had our Boxing Day game with West Ham not been postponed and played in midweek in front of nearly 30,000 less than had been anticipated in the original fixture. In that 38/39 season, by the way, more than half of our home games were played out in front of crowds topping 30,000.

Had not the ground and surrounding community been blitzed and our stand burned down during a wartime amateur cup final, the entire history of Millwall FC would have been very different, indeed. For there is no doubt that Millwall were a major football force on the rise at that time.

It's easier to get to the top if you've been there before.

Preston and Portsmouth might disagree with that.
And Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd & Huddersfield.

The Premiership trophy has only been won by teams from London or Lancashire - can't see that changing for many many years <ok>

    English Premier league Champion.

    English League Champions

Same thing, they just changed the name to charge more money for the privilege.

    .
But you only won the old league championship 3 times in your whole existence. Hardly a powerhouse of English football imo.

No doubt I.will get some Leeds retort saying my club has never won owt. That's true, but then again my club doesn't have delusions of grandeur. Leeds' achievements are sparse and (barring coming second in league 1 a few years ago) were over 20 years ago. Time to realise you're are not as big as you think you are

Wasn't going on about how many times we'd been Champions, just pointing out that its just the same, but more expensive ya ****ing daft ****.

btw, seeing as you brought it up, how many time have you been champions, or even won a major trophy, seriously, no pisstake, have you ever won anything?

My post wasn't simply aimed at you ****head, but more the suggestion from posters that you are now going to take some perceived right to sit in the top 4 if the premier league. I cannot see that happening in my lifetime.

My club wins the billy bly trophy every year. That's about as relevant as you winning the charity shield in 92 or some trophies in the late 60's or early 70's

If you weren't aiming it at me ****ferbrains, why use my quote with your post<doh>

And how do you qualify for the billy bly trophy, (whatever that is)
do you qualify to play in it like you do the charity shield ?

    ****ing potless moron.

I did say my post wasn't simply aimed at a reply to you, which meant it applied to others as well as you. I'm sorry if that was too complicated for you to understand. I'll try to make things more simple for you in future.

The billy bly trophy is a pre-season trophy that isn't that important. Which if you think about it is the same as
    the charity shield

Edit - btw, what does potless mean in your context

TC yammering about their crowds in the 1640s and simultaneously peddling the 'football started in 92' ****e everyone else has fallen for.

    Priceless double standards.

And is the Billy Bly trophy competitively contested, or derived from competitive football? No? Then it's inferior to our valid trophies, which have contributed to our fanbase, profile and club culture (which is far superior to yours).

But didn't the club that won those trophies get liquidated?
