I am being driven down by my daughter and her boyfriend, otherwise I'd get the train! We want to get to Southampton early so where's everybody drinking?
Injury, or just a rest ready for the weekend? As for Ben Arfa, well it sounds very promising, but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. Is anyone watching the game? Did it look serious? Or could it just be Pardew being extra cautious - Ben Arfa was feeling him hammy slightly, so Pardew took him straight off etc.
Chilko Saint take no notice of the teasing. I took my Swansea supporting friends to the Royal Oak behind Debenhams. We all had Saints tickets so we got in with no trouble and lets be honest what trouble are a load of retired old gits going to cause. The atmosphere was good and it is a short walk from the ground. The food isn't too bad there either. As for parking I can't advise you as I use my bus pass and have done for years but a lot depends on what you plan to do after the game. I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy the game. Let's hope we win.
Well he pulled up with it and was forced off, rather than taking off for protection. Either way, quick turn around between now and Sunday.
We can beat them even if they play both Cissé and Ben Arfa. We pushed Man City and United all the way, why not the Geordies?
One more injury tonight please. Chieck at home, about to make a tuna sandwich & drops a jar of mayo on his foot. Thank you.
Back in those days I was happily kicking a football around the village pitches in SE Berkshire and Saints weren't on my radar. My love of the Saints only started when I came to live and work in Southampton in 1970
There are unconfirmed suggestions from Newcastle that Papiss Cisse has a back problem. If so, Alan Pardew has had a bad night, losing two key men to injury
It's the risk you take as a manager I guess. Why managers play any first team players in the Europa League, I really don't know. In fact, why any manager even aims to qualify for the Europa League, I really don't know. Does more harm than good.
