Apparently Swansea had a £2million bid rejected for Stockdale last year, so I wonder how much he would cost in January.
From reading the Fulham forums i get the impression he is a decent keeper who is good on the ground but could command is box better. Hopefully he will turn out to be an excellent signing but until we see him then its difficult to judge
Perhaps, but that doesn't mean Fulham won't just buy somebody else to fill the gap. They have the young lad Etheridge who was shining for Bristol Rovers (until he got recalled) and is a rated prospect, so I think if we have the option to buy in January, we should do. I think Jakupovic will remain as backup for the season, but if Stockdale comes in and plays every game, then I can see us sending Amos back.
When was the last time City signed a player in his 20s who'd been called up to the senior England squad less than 2 years earlier? (summer 2011 he was called up for an away game but pulled out due to his wedding being the day before or after the game)
“We’ve got a good connection with Hull,” Jol said of Stockdale’s move. “I know Steve Bruce and if something happens to Mark Schwarzer I can always call him back." http://www.london24.com/sport/fulha...m_stars_loans_to_hull_and_brentford_1_1705271 Well, is there anyone else they have we might want?
Good to see an ex-player from my club helping out Hull City over the next few weeks. Trust he will be a positive influence on the sides performance over this period.
Fulham supporting mate of mine just gave me thumbs up on Stockdale. Said he played really well when he deputised for Schwartzer last season.
Bruce reckons Amos is staying and this signing is just so we have 3 keepers. Seems a bit too good to just be making up the numbers though and Amos won't want to stick around sat on the bench, something will have to give.
Bruce was saying that he will look at signing either Amos or Stockdale in January because he wants the club to have a goalie who is a permanent player. No mention of Jakupovic so I think he's toast. Fulham have recalled Neil Etheridge from Bristol Rovers as goalkeeping cover now they've let Stockdale out.
Sorry but if Amos had started the game like Stockers he'd be getting a proper ragging. First three touches he made a complete hash and one of them should have been punished with a goal. Thankfully it wasn't. What say the Amos bashers?
