My first away game of the season, nervy at times but an enjoyable game. The first 40 minutes was the best I've seen from us for a while. 1) Aluko 2) Simpson 3) Quinn
I went, though Aluko was excellent, his movement caused them problem after problem. Bruce, Chester, Faye, absolutely solid, Elmo and Rosenior also, Koren and Quinn ran it in midfield, Oli doing the tidying up after them. Simpson chasing down and tackling etc, good performance. Three subs did well also, Amos could do nothing about the goals and claimed crosses etc well.
very hard choice today to make. but i go with 1) Aluko 2) Bruce 3) Chester(just edged out Quinn) well done to all 14 players involved though. Great team effort and dug in deep by the end. Saw both sides of Hull City.
I'll save mine til I see the full 90. Listened on radio.. they said Alex Bruce didn't miss a header.. sounded like all 3 CBs were heros.. Meyler needs game time, they didn't say anything **** about Brady.. he apperared to keep the ball well, which was what he was supposed to do when the opposition is banging on the door for a 3rd.. but like I said, I'll reserve judgement..
i thought brady did ok and made some good interceptions..i also thought meyler contributed more in his short time then oli.. i assume he was put in there for his phyical presence? despite him actually been as imposing as a cheesy wotsit.. dont understand that selection personally, cant complain tho the first 30 minutes was ruthless, and the charachter shown after the nightmare start to the second half was good , a lesser team would have folded and lost that 4-3
For me, Brady's only problem is remembering that he's a left-back or a lift wing-back. He ran all the way into the position of a right-winger in about the 86th minute yesterday and didn't get back in position for a good 2 minutes. Talented player just needs to know when to pass and when to stop running.
I only watched it on tigers player so you dont have to count mine if you dont want 1. Aluko 2. Bruce 3. Quinn Last Place. Oli, he was ****. Once he wasnt even paying attention and a pass hit him in the backside.
Yep, hes not had many votes at all really. Ill put a full table up when were halfway through the season. Edit: Bruce has the 14th most points this season, the only players who have played at all with less points are: Rosenior Dawson McKenna Stewart McLean Fryatt Cairney Brady
Yeah, I just put it all into a spreadsheet so if there's a draw at the end of the season we can decide how to split them.
When you look at that list, you realise apart from TC they were the core of the team. In such a short space of time Brucey's done a ****ing amazing job, bringing in quality and getting 10 or 20% more out of existing players. In Simmo's case 100%!!
But when you look at that, the only player who's had any significant amount of playing time is Rosey, and when he has he's been played out of position for the most part and mostly subbed on/off.
