Benitez

Discussion in 'Chelsea' started by District Line, Nov 21, 2012.

  1. If this is truly a short-term appointment, then I doubt we'll see much evidence of all fall-out. Players who do not become part of Coco's elite will be prepared to bide their time and wait for him to be replaced, next season.

However, if the "he's only here temporarily" statement is complete bull, and he signs an extension, taking him into next season and beyond, it'll be very interesting to see which players leave.

    I know!!!

However he was very young, inexpereinced and starting rifts with key players. Rafa will get a lot more respect that's for sure. If you think otherwise you're deluded.

Thing is Rafa isnt one to shy away from causing rifts. Hes the sort to drop players for his favourites. Torres will start every game, he wont get subbed. Hazard, Mata, Oscar will be rotated out of existence.

A settled line up will soon become a phrase banned at Chelsea, the tinkerbell has arrived.

  4. But, please put it all into perspective, 100. The poor bastard was employed by the modern game's equivalent to Emperor Cailgula! Who knows what the hell goes on in Mad Dog's mind from one minute to the next. I am more than prepared to believe that, on Day 1, Mad Dog told AVB, "Go in that dressing room and kick some JT and Lampo ass, my friend!" and then, having done that and with the dressing room in uproar on Day 2, I can well imagine Mad Dog saying, "I cannot believe what you are doing to my team; this is not going to turn out nice for you, my friend," as he holds aloft a bullet, whilst grinning insanely.

It was his naivety and trust in Mad Dog that got him sacked at Chelsea, not his lack of footballing knowledge.

Another chelsea rtard who doesn't understand FFP or basic finances.

Yes you spent 75 mil on players, you also claimed a 20 mil profit on transfers. Do you know how that happened?

Its because the cost of the players you bought were spread out over the length of the contracts but players sold went straight in as income. Now see if you can follow me here. To break even next year you would have to make another 20 million profit on transfers and not just next year you'll have to do it for the next 4-5 years.

Not just that but winning the CL is worth a lot of money as well. Money you won't be getting this year.

Chelsea will need to increase revenues by an awful lot just to stand still at 1 million profit so you can kiss goodbye to large transfer kitty's. Just pray you don't fall out of the top 4.

Another rival fan RTard who is banging the FFP drum to death without anyone really knowing how it'll be implemented or enforced.

Jog on, it's as boring as 'wait till Roman leaves you'.

In fairness he was right in what he saying regarding the numbers. However, anyone who thinks that UEFA can or will ban some of Europes top clubs from it's competitions, should they fall foul of it, is living in cloud cuckoo. As the main CL sponsors simply won't allow it, "sorry Ford, Amstel, Sony et al, but we've banned Madrid & Barca this year as their balance sheets were looking a bit ropey, but can you still stump up the full fee to us for the sponsorship, that'll be fine" really going to happen that like...........

Barcelona and Real Madrid will both pass FFP though.

If Chelsea do pass it'll be by the skin of your teeth, yeah its unlikely you'll be kicked out if you're showing clear progression, but that means no more spending big. In fact your transfer budget would have to be lower than United, Arsenal, Spuds and even Liverpool's.

If you flout it don't for one second think UEFA won't sanction poor old Chelsea, you're only in it this year thanks to winning it last and you're not up there with teams like Madrid, Barca or United in terms of pulling power.

So yeah, to reiterate my previous point before the need to educate "chelsea - over 100 years of history" with basic 1+1= 2 maths, Chelsea are about to lose the benefits of having a meddling billionaire owner and be stuck with all the negatives.

Yes they currently will & I was only using them as an example.

Do you seriously think they'd ban City then?

Some of the Worlds best players on their books & UEFA are going to ban them from competing?

Nah never gonna happen, it'll have more loop holes than a Costa Coffee tax bill

I see Fifa blocked your loan of Drogba.

Time was you would have spent money on an actual signing and be damn with the cost. Its not like you have to worry about them being cup tied now is it.

Still, expect the fat waiter to bring in a few more bargain basement journeymen its what he does best. No more big transfers for you!

City are desperately trying to meet FFP so I guess they are taking the threat seriously and I doubt UEFA are going to scrap the whole FFP thing to accommodate a team that can't even get out of the group stages.

Why would UEFA cave into Chelsea or City when Real, Barca, United, Arsenal, Bayern etc are all living within thier means. Surely all the pressure from the big clubs is on UEFA to punish those who don't comply.

Yeah by driving a coach & horses through those loop holes I mentioned with their world record Abu Dhabi sponsorship deals I'd wager..........

You're kidding yourself if you expect clubs to play with a straight bat on FFP or if when 'caught' they'll face the ultimate sanction from UEFA & not a 'sort it out or else'...........the accounts of the benefactor clubs will be made so complicated you'll need a forensic accountancy group to decifer them.

Rafa was known for rotating his squad. But this is essential for any top club who compete in a number of tournaments. Rafa was blasted for it but evidence suggests that Fergie, Mourinho and Wenger all rotated their squads just as much Rafa did. In addition, Rafa doesn't rotate his core players i.e. Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard and Torres were hardly removed from the starting XI. Torres was rotated but that was because of his injuries and he needed protecting.

The same people also blast zonal marking when Rafa introduced it. If done correctly, it is very effective which led us to having one of the best defences and with Reina winning the golden gloves roughly 4 times out 6.

The best thing about Benitez is his stubborness. He is a very thick skinned manager and this is imperative when you are managing a big club. He will do things that you might not agree with but there is method in his madness and it usually pays off e.g. playing 2 holding midfielders (Alonso and Mascherano), rotating Torres (he was still carrying an injury but no knew this), zonal marking etc.

If the CFC fans are upset because of Rafa's comments, then I understand their negativity. But bear in mind that he was managing one of your rivals so he was hardly going to be complimentary.

But if CFC fans are upset because they doubt his credentials, then I seriously question your knowledge. He is a fantastic manager who brought some of the best nights to Anfield as well glory and one of your closest league campaigns in the PL. But most importantly, he created a legacy when he overhauled the Academy and we're starting to see the benefits.

He's off to ACN in January so the loan would only be for December anyway i.e when no one can buy players. Don't let facts get in the way though you boring bitter little fuk tard.

A good insight. If his ex club still hold him in such high regard even with some of his short comings (some bad signings, public rumblings with the board, 'fact' conference) he must have done something right. I don't see him as the long term answer as Roman wants a more entertaining coach but in the short term, we could have done a lot worse. Any one who won the C.L with that Liverpool side deserves some respect.
