President is nothing, but chairman is something. He's still chairman and will stay there until the end of the season. That's what is worrying.
Morning Steve, Disagree mate. I think Ken would be more than happy to spend somebody elses money Why wouldn't he ????
So it wasn't a dream! He's actually gone!!!! (well, going). Thought we were going to get the ****er a knighthood to leave. Old bastard! Think we should have a final showing of our 'Bates out' stuff for the last game of the season, with lots of really cheerful 'Cheerio, Cheerio' choruses throughout the match.
Marko, a chairman staying on the ensure a smooth transfer of responsibility is not unsusual in any normal sphere of life. He's not really in control & is as I said yesterday very much a lame duck chairman. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Better that than the new owners making as much of a mess of things as did the new owners of Pompey some while ago. Look at them now, in a right mess.
David Conn‏@david_conn Leeds fan @ravadarren is making a connection between creditors incl HMRC unpaid in 2007 admin; tax exile Ken Bates now selling for £44m.
its funny you should say that cos my missus passed her test with a driving instructor who got jailed cos he had no license haha it does explain the fact that shes **** at driving but she did pass first time lol
Won't mean owt with Bates staying on. They are will be the owners on 21st December, so they will have the power. Look at other clubs, it's often not the owner whose actually chairman. Chelsea have Buck as Chairman, but he can't make decisions if Abramovich disagrees. Bates will have no actual power himself, he'll be working for the club, as oppose to running it and then next season will be nothing more than a figurehead, who will probably be got rid of. Not actually disappointed that he's staying on. At least he's not running off and leaving the new owners with some problem he's hidden.
