so, not only is willian scoring, making him even more expensive and pricing himself out of a move just about anywhere, but it appears Moutinho isn't helping us either.
City need a goal, Real are down to 10 men, Mancini takes off Aguero and brings on... Milner? Er, ok...
Yeah, I think a mankini will sleep with the fishes soon. City out. But unfortunately, Goons are through..
haha, imagine if it happened and Guardiola agrees terms with city! Got a plan B, Roman? is it a good thing that Chelsea and City are out though? just trying to weigh it up. Their domestic performances should improve as they won't be travelling across europe each week. They should also get less injuries and fatigue. They are also both likely to perform better in the FA cup as a result. and I guess it nails on a top 3 finish for the pair of them. (which was to be expected really anyway). it's likely to be tougher for us when we play them, as we could well be dealing with europa at the time. and if they both take the FA cup seriously, that's another trophy we might as well write ourselves off of winning!
That's very defeatist Roo as all we need is a win to kick start us again. Could also be that Chelsea will continue to fall and City are peed off with being kicked out of the CL that they get depressed and start losing especially if Mancini says arrivaderci. Exciting times I think.
You're saying that because they're going to be in the FA Cup without the CL to distract them that we'll lose to them. Tell WBA that.
Well if we're drawn against them, perhaps. Who knows. What i meant, is that it'll be harder to win if they are taking it seriously and don't have Europe to consider like we may we have to. I'm not being defeatist mate, I'm just trying to be realistic. We could potentially have to juggle the squad about if we're still dealing with a Europa campaign and could have a few niggling injuries by that point due to fatigue. We'll give them both a good game and could beat them on our day, but the fact that both of them are our of the CL is likely to make it tougher now. West brom isn't relevant, they aren't in Europe like us and having to deal with all the constant team changes.
Chelsea are not out of the C/L yet, however if they are knocked out they go into the Europa with us,so they will be in the same boat as us!
it's bound to be pretty devastating for chelsea IF they are knocked out, bearing in mind they are the holders. I would have thought that RA's main objective will be to win the prem, not to travel around europe winning the "Mickey Mouse" euro trophy.
I'd be interested to see what you originally wrote, SD. This isn't a competition of who get's their first mate.
Just repeating what Totsfan said about Chelsea not being out of the CL yet (for me 50:50 actually) and also that they would still EL have if not. My post added absolutely nothing!
If there's a draw in the other game in Chelsea's group, then they go out. The cynical part of me says that makes it a pretty safe bet!
For that to happen both teams would have to trust each other. Unless there is an explicit agreement, I am not sure it would go like that. If it is a draw with 20 mins to go, perhaps they will both hang back and play out a dull draw, but I imagine the first half could have some intent. If Shaktar score a couple, they will probably want to ensure they top the group by winning.
