Brilliant, after that game last week, we get a single paragraph! Still, The Bollock manages to credit our away record, which is an achievement to behold. I can see where he's coming from, but if we're so strong at home, why are we drawing with Sunderland?
He's outdone himself this time. Sunderland weren't exactly impressive against Everton last week. Once Everton went behind, it was only a matter of time before Sunderland crumbled. 'So strong at home' yet this one has a draw written all over it? Sunderland have an awful away record and our only games at home that we haven't won were against City (late narrow loss) and Everton (draw). Jesus, this guy is an absolute moron. I'm not saying it's out of the question for Sunderland to get something from the game, but at least back up your prediction with some accurate analysis. 2-0 Fulham, with Berbatov and Sidwell scoring. Coincidentally, Lawro (aka The Bollock) hasn't tipped us to win now for a few weeks. Tipped us to lose against Arsenal, lost against Everton, lose against Reading, lose against Southampton, lose against City, lose against Wigan, although to be fair to The Bollock, he did tip us to beat an awful Villa side. (prediction of the year that one)
When Bidley first came up with the title for this thread, it was good for a laugh. However, Laura's preditions for us are bordering total disrespect. Yes, Sunderland could get something from the game, but form suggests otherwise. A boring 2-1 Fulham. And hopefully last on MOTD so that we don't have to listen to any more bias. COYW
We're the only game being played on Sunday, so we won't be on MOTD, but we'll be centre of attention on MOTD2. I heard Colin Murray saying before the start of the season that one of their principles is never to let the analysis be 'why team X lost' before properly covering 'why team Y won'. I like MOTD2.
Colin Murray, too, does a hysterical radio show on the BBC Five Live called Fighting talk - it's a bit like QI, but about sports and it's, frankly, funnier.
Yes, it's usually on in our kitchin on a late Saturday morning. Reliably entertaining. It's strange, Colin Murray really got on my nerves in his radio 1 days, but since he moved across into sports broadcasting, I find myself liking him more and more.
This makes me happy. I too used to dislike Colin Murray, as to begin with it was like he'd been plonked on the MOTD chair with little knowledge of football. These days he's grown into the role and has an infectious enthusiasm for the game, he's a breath of fresh air. I honestly didn't notice until you pointed it out!
I remain unconvinced by MoTD2 mainly because of the 'guests' they have on there. I absolutely despite the Final Score team, every single one of them, from Gabby Logan to Garth Crooks, and a lot of them pop up on MoTD2 such as Crooks, Claridge, Keown etc so decide not to watch it. Luckily Fulham rarely play on a Sunday so I don't really miss out. I do like Savage though.
I put myself at risk of Peter Herbert and the rest of the PC brigade, but I have no problem watching Gabby Logan, but Garth Crooks offends my soul in every way (and it has nothing to do with race!). Robbie Savage can grill my piss as well, I can't stand that tit! Oh, and despise*
I don't know, I wanted to vent about a football pundit so I thought a thread on a football forum for slagging off a football pundit was appropriate. EDIT: I missed your clever edit Bandy, my humour radar hasn't woken up yet!
The 'Bollocks' reckons we're not physically strong enough and Berba isn't a grafter, so no question in his mind it's a straightforward 2-0 win for Stoke. This is what he said in full: Has he actually watched Berbatov play in any of the last two games ??? Oh, come to think of it he has been 'dopped' from both MOTD programmes for the last couple of weeks.
Lawro is such an idiot- I wonder what league position we would be in if he had got all of his predictions right. I reckon an online petition to remove him from the BBC could go a long way- reckon there are 500,000+ people who would be happy to see the back of him and the boys club on MOTD. BBC list him as a football expert- I'm not entirely sure what qualifies him for such a title- beyond playing for Liverpool he's not held a managerial or coaching job for a significant period of time (his win rate at Oxford United was 16%) and I'm not aware of him being on any technical panels. On his wiki page someone has put in this edit "He was to form a formidable central defensive partnership with Alan Hansen (Co-Pundit on BBC Match of the Day and Co-Drinking partner)" which made me chuckle
The Cottage Chickens have again decided to differ with the 'Bollock' and gone for a DRAW - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/23/chicks-predict Would settle for that and their recent record (now going for 7 out of 7 correct predictions) is impressive.
