I'm sure that Granero isn't in the mood after all these performances. He was used to be on the wining side. Maybe all of this got to him. You can see from his face he's not a happy kitten.

Know what you mean Col, but and it's a big but, at least if he's in the middle he may feel he has to do more and put in a shift as he did when he first arrived......if not then i don't know what to suggest.....

Fair shout col, I'd also give Derry the arm band and the licence to dish out bollockings on the field! Time to fight regardless of who's the manager!

I don't think his attitude right now is good. BTW nobody is good enough not to care for his team. But I want to say that I can understand where it's coming from. He's not used to this circumstances. Yes he does get a lot of money for his job but he's a human too. At the beginning when we had high hopes he was good but as QPR sunk so did Granero

Thinking he doesn't want to play on the wide right, he seemed ok until then but thats still no excuse for attitude on the pitch.

I think we all know he will, against Manure AT Old Trafford - he's not going to want to miss this.

I think he's played out of position a few times. He needs to play CM right behind the striker(s). He could even play up front in support of the other, come to think of it. He looks like he wants to attack more with ball in possession anyways. Just need to get his passing/shooting boots on.

I think he's earned up enough good will points with past performances to excuse what happened on saturday. The majority of our team looked disheartened, it just stand out more with him because he's usually so energised. Stick him in his favoured position and i'm sure he'll relish his first trip to Old Trafford.

We got much worse when Granero left the centre of midfield. One of Hughes's bigger cock-ups. We all went on about the brilliant trio in the middle but that hasn't been the case.

Think we can afford to try anything on Saturday, everyone's written it off as a big defeat already anyway. Agree with everyone saying Granero should be re-instated in the middle, he was completely out of his depth on the wing last weekend, and back to the OP, giving the 'triers' a chance can't be any worse than fielding a team full of so-called 'professionals' just there to pick up a paycheque.

Hughes will go either 4-5-1 or 4-4-2. try to frustrate the opposition and invite attack after attack and then look bemused every time a goal goes in! works a treat.

I agree with the comments on Granero and being played out of position. I think I'm just not as convinced about him being THAT good as some on here. Hope I'm wrong. Regardless though, anyone who isn't up for the fight needs to **** off now. I agree he should probably be given another chance at OT in the centre.

I started reading this thread and quickly saw that my immediate thoughts about Hill had already been voiced by others. I like the idea of trying Mbia at left-back to accommodate Hill in central defence and maybe pushing Traore into left-midfield (as has been suggested sometime way back when). I'd then be looking at a (sort of) 4-4-1-1, pushing Taarabt up to feed Mackie. So, something like the following...

    --------------- Cesar -------------
    Dyer --- Nelsen --- Hill --- Mbia
    --------------- Diakite-------------
    Ephraim ----- Faurlin ----- Traore
    ------------------------ Taarabt ---
    --------Mackie ---------------------

I guess the only one that makes me nervous in there (or, at least, more nervous than I've already become these last 12 games) is Ephraim, but we should take the view that he made the 25-man squad and his time has come. Hughes could really fire he lad up on this one, if he has anything at all about him (yeah, I know).

I love the idea of Ehmer featuring sometime as well. (Nothing ventured, etc.)

Bench: Green, Ehmer, Derry, Granero, Cisse, Park (if fit, else SWP I'm afraid), Hoilett

The thought of what Van Persie and Rooney may do to Nelsen and Hill scares me ****less!

I agree. Hill and Nelsen at centre half. The thread title says "may as well play the triers" yet he has Traore and Diakite in the line up!!!!

As I say, I hate to think what Rooney and Van Persie would do against Hill and Nelsen with their joint lack of pace and mobility.
With regards to Diakite and Traore.....Diakite does try imo and I'm not sure who else could play LB. Traore probably cares imo.

Unbelievable how blinkered some people can be. Taarabt did nothing for a whole year yet you never said anything like that against him. That's why I can never take anything you say seriously COL. You just can't be trusted.

And if that's Traore caring, then God help us when he gives up!

P.S. Is there any chance we can get that useless c*nt Cisse off our home-page banner? Every time I see his ugly mug it makes my stomach churn.

Not biting Swords.....although I will say that Taarabt showed me what an incredible talent he was so I knew what he was capable of. And don't lie please....I often said how poorly Adel was playing last season and gave reasons as to why I thought that may be. I have seen nothing from Granero yet to suugest that he will get me half as excited as an in form Taarabt! Time will tell.
Cisse helped to keep us up in a big way last year, in spite of his sendings off. Short memory eh?
