If this is true, he's a dead man walking and won't command any respect in the dressing room. Great way to go up to Old Trafford. Ferguson may as well put out his youth team.
I don't know anyone who would not want anything less than their full contract paid up in a similar situation. He is inept as we have seen but he did not set out to fail and has done nothing wrong according to the terms he was given. Blame the culture in football and capitalism in general whereby a few individuals at the top of the tree can call the shots and get huge payoffs even when the do a poor job. Or blame the board for not doing the due diligence.
I agree, but why not get him out now? As Goldie says, going to OT under these circumstances is just ridiculous!
Not having that. If that was the case, him knowing he had no chance whatever he did, they'd just sack him and sort the financials out later. IMHO We'll see
There hasn't been a single shred of support for Hughes voiced by anyone in the club since the result on saturday, which makes me think this is quite probably true. More than that, there hasn't even been a recent article on the Official site detailing how he intends to turn things round, or anything along those lines. From a club PR perspective, it's as though he doesn't exist at the moment. Taylor's tweets have all been vague and diplomatically worded. Even if they were just preeempting the increased likelyhood of a sacking in the future(as opposed to the 100% backing of a few weeks ago), there'd be the odd tweet from a PR person or whoever saying they think he can get us back on track. As it is, the only explanation for his complete removal from anything QPR related is that his dismissal has already been agreed. For anyone inside the club to say anything positive about him would be disingenuous, as they're all already aware that he's on his way. (just my take) edit: I'm sure his body language in the press conference on friday will be a giveaway. I'll listen to London Call In tomorrow to see if the Hughes info Black Hole continues as well..
Amazing how either naive or ill advised TF and the Board appear to have been. They should have incorporated some form of performance related clauses into MH's contract (or the deal with whatever umbrella/vehicle MH trades through) to allow termination if the team had not secured a certain level of points by a certain date. If MH was unprepared to sign on such terms, he should have been overlooked. It is quite clear now that we really could not have done any worse with any other manager.
Corrr......I reckon we might break a record for the biggest loss record in Premiership history if Hughes is still in charge, if the above is true.
We dont have to give him a full pay off, he then has a choice of not being employed for the rest of his contract and thus never finding a job again or go on gardening leave until he gets another job. I told you he has no shame. Its no wonder the players playing as they are with him at the helm.
We havent given the players relegation wage cut clauses either and thats pretty standard, Id have had 50% cuts in there.
I'm sure someone like Marc Bircham would love to look after team affairs for a couple of weeks til we're able to get someone else. At least he might instill a bit of passion into the team, get them fired up....
Its also a nasty side effect of being the new club on the block and a small minow......you have to offer contracts that are rediculous to get the players/staff you want or their agents will palm them off to "bigger clubs".
Hughes is a ****ing parasite leaching money from our club. What a ****. I hope that other clubs have learnt from us and he never gets a job in management again. ****!
