Evening lads, Liverpool fan here! Our game on Thursday (Young Boys at home) is a important game in the Europa League group. If we win, it puts us in a strong position going into the final group game in a few weeks. If we don't, we are going to struggle to get out of the group. We've played stronger sides at home and a mix of younger/fringe players in the away games. Think you'll see the likes of Suarez & Gerrard on the bench & available if they are needed. Reina might get some game time but the centre-back pairing (Skrtel-Agger) will most likely be rested with Carragher & Coates coming into the side. Midfield could see Allen rested as we've got the likes of Sahin/Shelvey/Henderson to fill in. Sterling will probably be on the bench as Assaidi takes his place. Hope that answers your question! - Back towards the game. i'm looking forward to it! Should be a good game with the Rodgers/Allen angle to look at as well as some strong attacking talent. (Suarez, Michu etc.) You've done very well this season and come into the game on the back of an excellent away win at Newcastle so you'll be brimming with confidence. As will ourselves after getting another win on the board and some goals to go with it. Sets it all up for a good game. P.S: As with the Carling Cup game last month, I shall be doing a match thread which I shall invite your good selves over to for a bit of match chat/banter. With a decent number of members on both boards and a good game to look forward to, we should hopefully get some good chat/banter going!
Thanks, Chris. I reckon it's going to be a great game and you can count on a few of us getting in on your thread for a bit of banter.
I don't know f this is a WUM but our team is quite obviously full of much better players. There isn't one if your players who'd get close to our starting 11. Sturridge is **** and not worth £15m and I don't want him anywhere near Anfield. There are better players out there who want to play for us and will be cheaper.
Because you haven't played the team we have now at Anfield yet. Our team in league cup was poss the weakest we could of put out and even putting on Suarez and Gerrard couldn't reverse the likes of Cole and Yesil being out there. The team you played last season is nothing like our team now. No mentally fragile and **** Downing, Adam, Carroll, Enrique at LB where he's a liability and a tactically deficient Manager. Its basically half a new team, playing in a very different way.
Now it's just the whole team mentally fragile according to your original post Footy is all about your mental strength in these types of games and Liverpool don't have any and haven't for 3 years now
Em I think Michu and Hernandez would - we have no-one else really, we're playing teenagers week in week out. I really don't get this joke... We took your manager and your best player because we wanted them. On Young Boys... last time we beat them with a very weakened side. Their goals were comedies of error... Wisdom actually made his début I believe. I'd agree - our confidence is very brittle. You could see how much scoring first meant v Wigan.
Reverend, just wanted to point out in case my post made little sense, the point about Liverpool's mental strength was by Toela65 in his previous post, and not mine. I didn't know how to quote both comments in the one post so had to revert to good old copy and paste I think the point about being our B team goes back to your signings of Allen and Borini with the talk that he was maybe coming back for Williams, trying for Sigurdson and even rumoured to be lining up a move for De Vries. Agreed the joke is somewhat lost in the fact that it turned out just being Allen with Borini injured

I didn't think I could do it on my phone using Opera mini as wife I clicked on reply with multiple, both were highlighted. Realise now that I can
I think the home crowd will be a factor in the game and the atmosphere will give the lads a boost. We'll be high on confidence after escaping Southampton with a point after that performance and then a huge improvement and great result against Newcastle. People say Liverpool are improving all the time but i'd suggest that beating Wigan at home with a gift of an opening goal is probably an easier task than getting a win at the liberty when everyone is pumped up for the game. With regards to selection, Dyer/Routledge is a flip for me and i think Chico will get the nod ahead of Monk. Harsh on Monk who i think has done well in covering, but as several people have said, he's probably more suited to dealing with the movement of the Liverpool attack. I'm going for the Swans 1-0, i think it'll be a tight game but i have faith we'll nick it.
Yeh I knew, don't worry! I guess. I suppose if I was a Swansea fan I'd be making the same joke, swings and roundabouts isn't it? The one joke we can all enjoy is Roman Ambramovich.
Funnily enough I've been thinking about getting some short term work over the Christmas period. So I've decided to apply for the Chelsea job
I think you are way off the mark there toela65...we have 4 0r 5 players just as good and some better than what liverpool has this season. only suarez is better than anything we have at the moment and one player does not make a team.....Him and sterling and maybe gerrard are your star players and we will make sure we have them covered....we can have a certain amount of optimism on winning as we are at home and teams find it difficult at the liberty but because of the nature of the game then both sets of players will be nervous and cautious of not letting their respective managers down and for that reason i think it will be a very close game and probably end up a draw, If anyone was going to win then i favor swansea to nick it with home advantage......but we must stop suarez who is the best striker in the premiership at the moment from using his world class skills or he will beat us on his own if we let him....
suarez voted by premiership managers as the best so far. VP is the best finisher when in the box but suarez has better footballing skills and that's why he has the vote.....
