According to the BBC gossip page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ (original story from talk****e)

"Roma have approached Arsenal over a £5m move for 32-year-old Tomas Rosicky in January."

For someone who is 32 and has his injury record, I would take 5 mil. He had one good run of injury-free form in 6 years. By that logic he'll be 38 by the time he's playing well again.

I'd sell him for 5 million, no doubt, love the player, but he's too injury prone, and he's 32.

Yeah totally. Then what we should do is bemoan all the players who left us because they dont know what loyalty means.

I dont think we could buy a better replacement for £5 Million.

He's experienced, always fully commited and versatile. I think we should keep him

Yes, sell him. Make Kroenke a bit richer. Sell Diaby, Arshavin, and whoever we have on high wages. Let's make our club really profitable. So that Kroenke can use some of our money to support his ****ing baseball team.

Rosicky played a big part in our recovery last season, so when fit, he's still a valuable player. I guess it depends on how much game time he'll get this season, but the one thing that has cost us dear in the past is lack of depth in the squad. So I'd keep him.

Keep him until summer. Then let Rosicky leave for a final payday & promote Eisfeld to the first team.

Keep him until the end of the season then re-evaluate. Selling any player this transfer window would be fool hardy, as we simply don't have a big enough squad to lose players and still get 4th place.

It's not like we are going to buy a replacement, so what's the point? Rosicky is one of the few players that could do the Cazorla role, and thus giving him the rest he needs.

I cant see the point in threads like this.

We're not a strong as some of our rivals so why would it benefit us to sell one of our best, most loyal, experienced players?

After RVP, Rosicky was our best player last Season.

Well, in all honesty, if he doesn't play, there is no point in keeping him. You are talking about 5M just because having him around makes you feel good? If it was my 5M, I'd be selling him.

Exactly. If we sell Rosicky, we will promote Eisfield or Gnabry. But we can do it anyway. If we would not have a multi-billionaire owner (actually two) I would have said yes, let us save some money. What is the point now?? To maker Kroenke richer when he decides to pocket the dividends?

The board do not pay themselves dividends. The accounts are published and audited every year and nobody is taking anything out of the club

That would make some sense if... We re-invested all the money we got from player sales but we dont ...so it does'nt.

I don't think that there is a lot of pocketing the dividends going on. I think your logic gets a little fuzzy here. I really think you have to stop thinking of the finances of the owners and the clubs as joined like at Chelsea or Man City. Arsenal are just not run like that.

Well, stricly speaking, we do re-invest, just not always in players. What are you suggesting, that we buy 20 or 30 players that will never be good enough, just to use up the money?

No quite the opposite in fact. If we're going to sell our best players we should be replacing them with equal or better quality replacements.

Recently we sold - Fabregas, Nasri, RVP, Clichy, Eboue and Song.
What did we buy as replacements - Carzola, Podolski, Goroud, Gervinho, Jenkinson and Santos.

Is that accurate? In my opinion it's not better, but is it equal? Fabregas and RVP are in a different league to everything we have. Only one that is in the same league in my opinion is Carzola. That man is fantastic.
