I won't list all the trophies, all the records or all the world class players we've been privileged to see wearing the Chelsea Blue or your ambition to see us in a world class state of the art stadium. What I want to thank you for is not settling for 2nd best and for still having the motivation to drive us forward to even bigger and better things. Many, even most, will be upset at the sacking of RDM but in the cold light of day they all know that the defeat to West Brom, the poor performance at Swansea, the awful game v Liverpool but above all the absolute shambles in Turin are simply not good enough and should never be accepted as good enough with the talent we have. Thank you Roman for the glories of the last 10 years but more importantly thank you for not settling for 2nd best and for wanting us to be even better. That is something that can't be bought and a few Chelsea fans need to realize that.
Bottom line is how many clubs would trade places with our success of the last 10 years. All bar Man United probably. No clubs perfect and we have a lot to be thankful for. To everyone bemoaning the RDM sacking, and I'm one of them, we could have been another Leeds had Roman not stepped in. What would you have preferred?
I love the aggressive approach to his pursuit of trophies--but he really did need to step back and ask himself, what was the real reason behind out recent blip!
Against the trend I know but....I am with you on this. Some people *iss about in life avoiding the hard decisions others crack on and gain success. Football is a business pure and simple. Non qualification for the latter stages could well cost us millions. In the 'real' world of commerce the buck stops with the boss and on this occasion it was RDM. NB: I do have the utmost respect for Robbie's contributions to our club over the years so I do not have a downer on him per se.
No Chelsea is not a business . It,s Roman's fun thing. Every company in the world would be bankrupt if they were run like this.
Liverpool fans wouldn't thanks. Were happy with our 5th European Cup and our 12 other trophies since 2001 thanks mate.
2001 was over 10 years ago. How many trophies have you had since 2003 when Roman came in? None that we haven't won that's for sure and we've also won 3 league titles in that time.
All because of Abram and his money. Funny how you won **** all before he came along. You sold your soul to the devil, go on, admit it. Sure winning stuff is fun, but winning stuff that is earnt is more fun. At least RDM was a sign that at least a part of Chelsea could be authentic, but Abramavich had to stamp that out.
It definitely felt like fun to me when Drogba put that winning goal in. What do you mean by earn't. There is not one team in the whole PL that has not spent lots of money on players and who spend currently lots of money on wages - not one. Trouble is that some supporters of some clubs who 'only' shell out £3-10m for a player and 'only' pay £20-40k pw think that that is normal, ok and not soulless just because other clubs spend a whole lot more. Real world is that those sort of figures are barmy and soulless too. Pot, kettle, black - all that comes to mind. For all the whingeing about Chelsea/City etc spending you need to remember that the reality is that all PL teams are in the PL and not the Conference League because they spend heaps of money. That's a fact and presumably the 'spending' moaners would be far happier if their club did not spend huge amounts of money and indeed did play in the Conference. Long gone are the days when clubs survived off of gate receipts; now it is all about shareholder stakes, sponsership and slices of the broadcasting pie. That's football, either accept it or go and support your local darts team etc.
I think Chelsea are missing DD leading the line. I thought RDM could of done some good over a 2 year period.
yep, this is completely true....f**king tit. We had won a similar amount of trophies in the Premier League Era than Liverpool had prior to Romans arrival. Between 93 (formation of the PL) and 2003 (RA buys Chelsea): Chelsea : FA Cup: 1997, 2000 League Cup: 1998 European Cup Winners' Cup:1998 Liverpool: FA Cup: 2001 League Cup: 1995, 2001, 2003 UEFA Cup: 2001 How does this equate to "f**k all?" Plus we qualified for the Champions League Twice....
You know full well what I mean by earnt. United, for example, have only ever spend the money that they have earnt from years of winning and starting from nothing. You were mid-table cack, like City, until Abramavich splurged his filthy oil cash on your club. Nothin about you is authentic anymore and your revolving door of managers is embarrassing. ****ing hell even your own fans (the non plastic ones) don't want to be associated with Chelsea any more, that takes some ****ing doing
Were you born a spastic or did some accident happen in your child hood! Yes, mid table Champions League Quarter finalists, 4 points from the title in 1999.
