Shakter goal last night was unbeleivable , just watched the champions league goals from last night .What was Glenn Hoddle on about if that goal had Happened in the Benfica / Celtic match ????
I think he meant that, as qualification depended on it, we (and those in the studio) would've gone mental if that went against Celtic. Did you see Hoddle apologise to Wilkins for being a Celtic fan WTF Honestly, though, the "gentlemanly drop ball" needs to be taken out of the game. Imagine that happened in a CL final The ref simply needs to give the ball back to the relevant keeper and it cuts out folk acting like pricks or unnecessary tension in games.
i heard that hoddle had outed himself as a tim last night, i take it its true then? suppose, if he'd sinned in a past life he'd be a hun...
I would love that to be true. I must admit, I'm scared of the dramatic exit scenario. Barca and Benfica draw then we, at 1-1, miss a penalty with the last kick of the baw or something. ...or we win, hear that Barca-Benfica are drawing and start celebrating - just for Benfica to score in the 98th minute or some **** I've already decided that I'm leaving work early on the 5th December and I'm going to spend at least an extra hour in the pub settling my nerves before the game.
To put the last post into context, even if Spartak beat us at home, this CL campaign has already exceded everyone's expectations and the tactical nous we've shown for such a young team has put us right back on the map. So, beating Spartak in Moscow, beating Barca, winning all four qualifying matches, holding Barca until injury time in their back garden etc etc etc is all much better than I expected. I declare it to be a success
To put the last two posts into context: Wem-ber-ley, Wem-ber-ley We're the famous Glasgow Celtic and we're off to Wem-ber-ley
Yes Harry you told us about Brown, just hope he is back for the first game of the Champions League knock-out. We didn't look good last night because, we started nervously and played none for the first twenty minutes and of course by then we were one nil down. I thought once we got the ball a little bit we were too eager to get up the field, men were racing up from everywhere and when we lost the ball it was more panic getting back. I think Benfica were too dangerous for us, they had very many ways of attacking us. They could do the short quick passing, they could play the long ball, their wingers could take on our defence, they could attack us with whipping corners in. We were under pressure from them from all methods and out played yet we could have grabber the equaliser. I was impressed with Kayal, the best we have seen him all season and we will need him in the next game. Two home wins and everyone is happy. I think Barca can play a weakened team and still win at home because there are so many attacking/midfield type players there who think they should play more often they will be out to prove a point.
Trevor , you should be more interested in what Elgin and East Stirling strikers are up to rather than Messi . I wonder if they 've finished work the day yet !!!
Rangers are dead , that ruling went in favour of your old club , I believe Hmrc will appeal it and win it next time round , meanwhile you new club Sevco are going ding dong with Elgin to win Div 3 , good luck with that battle .
Benfica fans have been deserting their club in droves since Rangers "relegation" to Div 3. The CL needs a strong Rangers.
We often marvelled at the ability Rangers had on the field and in the disciplinary room to win when everything pointed to a loss. Rangers always seemed to have the right man in the right place. Not many of us thought they could still manage it when they are dead and gone. But that was Rangers it never mattered what they did or knew, but who they knew even after death.
