So, it looks like Hughes is here for now. So, bearing in mind that he has hinted that he'll try some different players, what players would you like to see start on Saturday?
    How about this:
    ----------------------Cesar----------------------
    Dyer-------------Nelsen-----M'Bia----------Traore(assuming Fabio can't play)
    ----------------Derry------Faurlin----------------
    Park(if fit)/Ephraim---Diakite---------------Taarabt
    ----------------------Mackie--------------------

Why the **** would you not have Hill playing at Centre-Back?

I'm a big fan, but I think Nelsen is better and M'Bia gives much needed pace. Having said that, if M'Bia doesn't really want to be here, then I'd play Clint every time. Haven't seen enough of M'Bia to judge that yet imo.

Col, personally i would play samba alongside faulin and put granero in the middle his favoured position, other than that not a bad looking side.

    Park? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Not for me this, could be closer to 20 -0 than 10 -0.

    I think I'd go 4 - 3 -3 / 4 -5 -1 when we don't have the ball (80%?)

    -----------------------------------Cesar-------------------------
    Dyer (or Fabio, or Bosingwa)---Nelsen---------M'bia----------Traore
    --------------Diakite--------------Granero-------Faurlin----------
    Taarabt----------------------Cisse------------------------Hoillet

Mackie as Super Sub. Playing Hill as CB with M'bia in DCM in place of the most out of form of Diakite, Granero and Ale is another safer option.

I would play Hill at CB and move Mbia to left back has to better than Traore even Clint without pace is several times better than him. What about Max Ehmer at CB giving him a chance to impress at Old Trafford.

Do you not think Park would be desperate to impress at Old Trafford and know their players inside out?? Made for him!

I have to say I would put Derry in for Faurlin as Faurlin is suffering from shot confidence. Derry has better character although Faurlin has more skill.

I would have Mbia in defence any time. He does play with spirit and he's bloody skilfully and diverse. Him being in central midfield wouldn't be bad either but he'd have to watch those crazy tackles.

We're not desperate enough to play Ephraim yet. Hoilett should be on as he's scoring on a somewhat regular basis lately. Why shouldn't Mackie start? He was an instant improvement over SWP and I think earned a stay in the team.

It's funny. We all know(assume) that this formation would be the best, and for the last game Hughes chose this formation but he is so stupid that he was able to screw it up. Come on, you can't play central midfielder with the lack of pace and with great passing abilities out wide. Especially when you already have two wingers in the team.

I just don't think that we have an ideal formation because Hughes is capable of getting the worst from any formation he decides to play

Thats a good point, he ought to be up for it, but can he play well enough? I never saw it when he played in wide positions anyway.

Just about every time Mackie has started for a long time, he has seemed inefectual. When he comes on as Sub he has looked really up for it - why that is I got know idea, but I may as well blame that on Hughes too !!

It was on my channel. 4-2-3-1 with Adel in the middle of the three and Granero on the right

Oslo, you make a huge deal about playing Park, who, as far as I have seen, at least TRIES and yet you'd consider Bosingwa!!? My 1 is also 5-4-1 when without the ball.

Yeh i agree. I think the repulsion of fans to Park is looking a little outdated given the drivel we've been served up in recent weeks. Performances were actually better when he was in the side, i wonder if that's just a coincidence? That said, i'd still start Taraabt and Hoillet, but bring on Park for the latter during his inevitable second half fade.

What I mean is Id'd have Dyer at RB if he is fit, Fabio if he isn't, but if Fabio isn't fit either then yes Bosingwa. Alternative is Onouha maybe, but I'm not too excited about him either, though he does seem to try hard enough. Park didn't look like he was trying one bit against Hammers.

Surely the best way to combat shot confidence is to try and instill the confidence again by showing the player that you have confidence in them and picking them not dropping them after 45mins back in the starting line up.
