Some of the arrangements are liable? The tribunal ruled on each indivual EBT? Not seen that reported anywhere. Regardless, the tribunal ruled in Ranger's favour. Vindication of what Rangers have said all along. What more do you need to be vindicated other than winning the case?
I thought it was just the tax that Whyte didn't pay was to be paid, but yes, I agree, **** knows and certainly no one on here will know, although many will claim they do.
Yes, but the EBT hanging over the club was one of the main reasons that Murray sold to Whyte. As Alastair Johnston said last night: "HMRC allowed Craig Whyte to take over and drive the hearse straight to the cemetery".
Structuring your finances to legally minimize your liability is not immoral in any sense or context of the word. It's common ****in sense.
No, HMRC didn't "allow" Craig Whyte to buy the company. Murray did. I suspect that he thought that Rangers were going to lose the EBT case and with his crumbling business empire falling about around him, thought best to sell Rangers to a billionaire, pity he was duped......
I agree, they are not called loopholes for **** all! It is an adiser's job to save the company as much as possible, capitalism isn't perfect, but it beats anything in 2nd.
I know that, you know that, but in the moral world of Timothy, you pay as much tax as you can. The ironic thing being that a lot of these ****s will be fiddling the system one way or another to get extra benefits or similar.
