I don't understand why he didn't just hoof it after that. I know you're not allowed to touch the ball twice but come on <laugh>

Haha, That would only happen in non-league football.

I'm not so sure - how about that penalty that Pires and Henry messed up at Arsenal, as one example that comes to mind?

Plus, are you telling me you can't see that happening at Saints - the club where if it can happen, it probably will?!

I think the part that would never happen at this level is the counter attack and the goal. It's hardly unheard of for a player to slip, but the most embarrassing part is that he just stood there and let the defender dispossess him. He should have recognised the danger, got a second touch of the ball and conceded a free kick the other way. Also I imagine the rest of the team could have defended that better.

He should have just blasted the ball into the stands . Why he was so worried about conceding a free kick to the opponent I don't know

That was actually quite a good counter attacking goal. Admittedly there was very little in the way of opposition, but still. Good vision and a very good pass which made the finish quite simple. Who was the dispossessing player..?

"The ball is in play when it is kicked and moves".

    Should have been a retake.

Why? It was kicked and it did move, albeit not how the taker intended!

It has to be kicked with the foot, I think. But now I'm not sure. I'll try and find out...
