You know the answer to that question so don't ask it. Fernandes does not have the money that RA has. He also does not have the sense apparently because sacking Hughes and his entourage would cost far too much. That is down to the terms of the contract he would have negotiated in the first place. Of course it could be that TF did really have a dream of turning us into a major force in the land with a stadium to match. However he is now discovering that you have to have extremely deep pockets to do that. Time to wake up Tony. It's a nightmare.

It really is time for him to rein in his expectations and start building gradually.

I don't think Abramovich ever really wanted RDM, he just sort of evolved into the job at a time when no big names where available, a bit like Gordon Brown really. The RDM won the CL and that buggered Abramovich's plan to chop him due to the howls of derision he would have received

Therefore the club leaked to the press that the Juve game was a 'must win' for RDM and they duly lose, RDM walks with a payoff and Pep joins up either now or in 6 months or so.

Wouldn't bet against RDM heading up as front runner for Hughes replacement, he'll want to prove Chelsea wrong.

I am not sure what I think about RDM as a manager and I don't really care what Abramovich does.

What is good, however, is that the media heat is off QPR for a bit and that has to be a good thing!

It's your birthday, you should be enjoying yourself, not on here!

Agree with all this. RDM used to live round the corner from me in Leamington, dragged his family down to London in the summer, sure he'll be keen to stay in town, kids in new schools etc. Still don't want him, would prefer Dedcrapp, and that, for me, is saying something.

.....but I wonder if the whole concept of paying up the contracts of managers when they are sacked has had to be factored in to modern contracts to give incoming managers any semblance of security when joining a new club, because as we know, football league management and especially Premier League management is notoriously fickle and as RDM has just found out, you can be out of gainful employment at no notice having perhaps "under-performed" in the job for only a couple of weeks due to factors outside of your direct control.

If Abrhamovich et al stopped trying to buy instant and repeated success at the expense of everything else and stopped firing managers every 5 mins then there might not be this need to protect managers and letting them walk away with a fortune after 2 mins in the job!!!

In that respect, I might be worthwhile taking a job like the Chelsea one, actually looking to profit from a sacking with the chance of keeping the job if things go well.

As you well know, QPR is in the blood mate, hard to stay away from the rollercoaster even when its' about to crash.

Maybe the QPR board will look at the ruthlessness of RA and think maybe they're being too soft on MH?

That's one way of looking at it.It could be that they focus on Hughes even more now though.Surprised United didn't sack SAF after Saturday. This continual sacking is crazy,QPR however can justify it and Hughes is still in situ.

Well at least Roman Abramovich acts swiftly (unlike TF), putting his mouth where his money is:-

The club statement continued: "The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season."

Chelsea's farewell note to Di Matteo - presumably they keep these things on permanent file and simply alter the name of the latest casualty - announced: "The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough."
This is certainly true, but in fairness to Di Matteo, it should have added "for the last four weeks".

Could be just the man for a short term fixed, should TF get rid. He took over at West Brom when the team were struggling for a win and confidence, managing to get them promoted. Then we all know what happened last season when Chelsea were at their lowest ebb. Bit like that dog, the littlest hobo. Waltz in, save the day, then wander off back down the road again.....
