I can't see how that would happen.

Does he still play for Ireland?

    I'd rather have Tony Warner.

Actually no, that's a step too far, but you get the idea.

Would have been a cracking signing if it happened. And yes, he retired after the Euro's

Wasnt that deal already signed in the Barmby era? I dont think Bruce had much choice.

There was nothing fixed, we pulled him out of a trial at Ipswich to offer him a deal.

Bruce could have seen Jakupvic as a decent reserve keeper.
A back-up for lesser cup games and more importantly he is our keeper that can't be recalled.
    Short term fix??
Everone can see we need an experienced keeper to help the defence out, give them confidence.
Amos is a good decent keeper but its a hard position to come out on loan. Every mistake as keeper is magnified X 100.

Given's out of favour for a reason though - he's been ****e lately. A shadow of the 'keeper he was at Newcastle. If you think the Amos 'errors' are bad, think back to Given at the Euros, they were some proper examples of poor goalkeeping. Just shows that no amount of 'experience' cuts out errors, and sometimes it can have the opposite effect and increase errors.

Groans....He may make errors, he'd still be a damned sight better than Amos. Do keep up ISTPLT.

It wasn't solely David James's fault though was it? Bristol just didn't have a very good team, one man doesn't make a team.

Is there seriously a debate on here about whether or not Shay Given is good enough for Hull City?

    Seriously?

    Get a grip boys.

At the minute with Bruce coming out and saying that Amos is making a few mistakes, I think Amos is starting to put some pressure on the defence in the same way that Gulacsi did last season.
We need a keeper quick before it costs us, Bruce knows it and will do something.

Based on the fact he's gone way downhill in the last 12 months and is no playing second fiddle to a 'keeper we know is nothing more than decent, yeah.

I'd honestly rather have the young Australian guy.

He hasn't gone downhill, he simply hasn't played, he's only appeared in two league games this season.

He's their Bullard, he's on too much money and for far too long and they're trying to get rid of him.

He's still one of the best keepers in the country.

I'm veering towards agreeing with ISTPLT on this one, think he (Given) maybe has gone into decline in recent times. I can't believe that Lambert would pick Guzan over him unless there was some issue there, though I agree with Glennonsspiltpint that Guzan was underrated by our fans.

He was appalling at the Euros, to the point that people were wondering if he was playing with an injury, and in the first game this season (I think it was the first anyway) he was crap again and that's why he isn't playing.

Glennon - you need to calm down. It's a forum where people come to disagree with each other, I don't get why you're being so arsey about people disagreeing with you.
