Another brace for Velikonja last night in the development squad game. Malky must surely think he's worthy of a benchspot at least for the Barnsley game. Good to see Mutch and Kiss playing and getting the other 2 goals - good time to get them both back in contention with our current crop of injuries. Now if we can get through the next fortnight using what we've got rather than importing someone new to our system for a month or so, we could have a full complement to draw on again. With a couple of games on the road next after tomorrow's loan deadline, playing with the options we've got may be the best solution.
just finished reading the write up on the OS. Eti had two disallowed also. The two reports I've read on Coullson are promising as well. Could be a shrewd signing that. 5 wins from 6 at the CCS for the development squad now. Noticable that Nugent didn't lead 'his' team out last night. Wrapped in cotton wool at the moment like all our defenders!
I'm sure I read something along the lines that Malky thought Velonikja (spelling) was a bit lightweight when he bought him but he'd bulked up and is nearly ready. How much bigger is Cowie?
He said the same about KimBo. Apparently they've been having 1 on 1 with the conditioning coach to make them physically stronger.
Others don't seem to be standing still on the loan front including weekend rivals Barnsley. See they've just signed Greening from Forest as well as Tudgay. Both could lift their game. Greening in particular can be very effective in a similar way that Tommy Smith has been for us. Play to our strengths and they'll make no difference though - we need to win this one.
FFS How many more times are we going to face a side which is bringing in keen to impress new players the week before we play them?
With respect to MM, Eti has done everything that could be asked in these development games and deserves a chance of the bench minimum imo.
I thought about being more precise with my wording but left the ambiguity to be picked up by someone. As usual, you didn't let me down Sparkey.
Lets hope they remain strange to each other until after 5.00 pm Saturday and that our new left back is not as strange to us as they are to them - or something like that!!!.
I commented on this trend some time ago. A lot of teams seem to sign a new player just before they play us. The number that have done it is disproportionate to the number of games we've played. Do you think they may be worried?
FFS now Blackburn are at it, and we play them straight after Sheff Wed. A Man U striker this time. It shouldn't be allowed.
