So it's between Hughes and Adkins to be the first manager relieved of their duties this year eh? Just goes to show what the newspapers know. I must say though, I didn't see this coming despite Abramovich's legendary lack of patience. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20423905
Bit silly in my opinion. The bloke won 2 major trophies last season and has started this season very well. Abramovic only gave him the job because he felt he didn't have much choice and I think he was waiting for the first dodgy spell of results to get rid.
For how not to run a football club, see Roman Abramovitch For how to run a football club, see Nicola Cortese
What a joke! Also John Terry 20/1 to be the next manager! Think he'll act like the boss anyway haha. Takes credit for everything
Bookies presumably are quite happy. All that money spent in the last two months on Adkins, Hughes or Hughton being the first man out of the door.
Shocking. You'd have got good odds on Di Matteo to go first! Pretty clear Abramovich never really wanted to give Roberto the job in the first place, I don't know what he is thinking sacking him now though, he'd better have someone lined up but who would go there considering how Di Matteo's been treated? On the other hand, maybe Chelsea is a manager's dream job, you only have to work for 6 months and walk away with millions in your pocket! Wonder if Di Matteo's sudden availability will alert Cortese...
I'd be annoyed if I were a Chelsea fan, he at the very least deserves the season. Add another CB and a striker or two and they will win the league imo. So do you think Roman has someone lined up? And who do you think will get the job?
Falcao in January = the title. Simple as that. Doesn't really matter who the manager is. Maybe Roman fancies a go himself.
It wasn't the fee that ruined Torres, it was coming into a club where he was just another striker. At Liverpool the team played in a way that suited him. Chelsea were used to Drogba, and he was only brought in because Abramovich had a hard-on for him; Ancelotti never wanted him. Now they're playing in a way that should suit him better but he's obviously been affected by his unhappy introduction to the club.
Torres was already horribly lacking in form before he came to Chelsea, then the media and talk surrounding him, combined with his role in the team etc. just compounded that and turned him into the shadow of the player he once was in terms of both confidence and quality. He is the greatest contributor to Chelsea's woes, not manager, owner or any other player. Although I suppose since he was clearly an Abramovich buy, it does once again come down to him in a way. I wouldn't necessarily say Falcao = title, but if Chelsea had a legitimate goalscorer and contributor there instead of a player who is frequently just a passenger, they would not have finished 6th last season or be 3rd at this point in time and heading out of the group stages.
Silly. When Nige gets us to 3rd in the prem and wins the European Cup for us can we get rid pronto please. Time to move up a level That russian bloke is about to spend another 100 mill on not winning the European Cup over the next 3yrs.
