Rangers have been found guilty of tax avoidance but the payments to players etc are deemed to be loans and
so the responsibility of paying them back is the players. The amount Rangers have to pay is considerably less
than the £46.2 m that was previously taunted. So it appears Rangers became liquidated and lost their ability
to add to the trophies that the won the last century apparently only by their normal method of cheating by
use of indulgent match officials. It appears there were no doubts about the double contracts which means
the SFA will have to take action over the trophies won in the first decade of this century. Not as bad for Rangers
as we hoped but it could be interesting to see how the Loyal Rangers players with traditional Scottish and other names
all the rest like paying back their ill gotten money bestowed, on them in away from Rangers that they probable never thought
they would have to pay tax on.

Would advise refraining from naming individuals, as that info has been redacted probably on grounds of data protection or perhaps more.
Club liabilities are still there, but much reduced.
Some Individuals liable immediately, but all eventually from their estate on their demise.
HMRC could still have rejected a CVA as the non payment of tax and NI by Whyte still constituted more than 25% of total debt, consequently rfc would still have been liquidated.
Dual contracts is covered in para 161 and it seems clear that there was failure to disclose the fullness of the players contracts so breaching SFA and SPL rules. Title and trophy stripping strong possibility. Games in which liable individuals played mean they were probably ineligible and subsequently any game they played in will be scored a 3 nil loss by rfc.

Dual contracts decision will be interesting especially if it contradicts para 161 or decides not to strip titles. JUVENTUS will be very interested if a UEFA affiliated association sees fit not to strip and reallocate titles and trophies.

Great result for HMRC in that had the total tax liability fallen on rfc, they HMRC could retrieve nothing. They can however pursue individual employees, some currently, but all eventually. Some individuals may wish to negotiate settlement now, rather than have it come out of their estate in years to come.
It does seem, however that some players may have been misled by someone as to tax liabilities. If this is the case then the law courts will be busy with suits against those who misled them.

Read some of it. It was pretty ****e to be honest. Most of it was just a rehash of his blogs which are also pretty ****e.

You should try reading some time. It's good for you.

Cannot understand what all the glee is among SEVCO fans. 35 players found guilty. 35 a rather large number and one which could lead to the stripping of titles and trophies for your club. THe fact that the players are liable increases the chances that rfc will lose the DUAL CONTRACTS case.

Before SEVCONIAN get too excited I suggest that you read para 161 p 38 very very very carefully. It is this judgement which is crucial to your history.
Furthermore, HMRC did have more than the required 25% by value of the debt and that is without adding on the tax which the club has been found liable for.

It is even more possible that rfc did cheat.

It's what you call being informed before you pass comment on a public forum, because without being informed you make an arse of yourself.

Read para 161. Only takes 30 seconds, then you can go out till your informed hearts content:biggrin:

Can we talk about this in this one thread?

I only found this out now. Annoying as I have followed it pretty closely and I am up to my balls now it is out.

I haven't had the opportunity to digest it yet. It looks on the face of it to be quite a good result for Murray. I am not going to lie, I am a little surprised at that aspect of it. I am happy enough that it confirms what was already pretty obvious that Rangers cheated. Rangers creditors should be unhappy as it means they will get **** all but then at least Hector can chase some ****s for what they owe. I think that is probably about fair enough and worrying for all the other tax dodgers who availed of the scheme. Hector would have preferred it in a nice neat little bow. I wouldn't be surprised if they contested this and it went on for a while longer yet.

I'll have a better look some other time but those are my first impressions. I am hours behind everyone else.
