according to Beard, surely thats got to be good news for us? Theres still a very big chance of him going. Both Deschamps and OGS have had their odds cut quite a lot today.
They have to come out and fully back him or get rid, they know this is just damaging leaving these things hanging on.
I've been comin to the board just to see the thread "Hughes is gone-offiical" but nothing yet. Just sack the motherfuc.ker before it's too late.
This is one of those things that will gather momentum from this point forward. I think its only a matter of time; any point between now and the New Year. Hughes' only chance is to start winning matches, and winning them well, starting with the 90 minutes at Old Droffart. This doesn't seem likely, does it? I was listening to Ratboy on MNF last night and he opined that the Rs would stay up this year because the squad has so much talent. He acknowledged that there's no such thing as 'too good to go down', but believes Hughes would turn it around if given longer. Probably a little Manchester United Old Boy solidarity (aw, bless) but, if it is true about the qualities within the squad - and I believe it is, to a qualified extent - then the finger of blame for the generally poor performances and overwhelmingly poor results so far this season has to point at the manager's failure to (1) motivate the players and/or (2) introduce effective tactics. You can also accuse players of apathy etc., but why is this, do we think? Has Hughes lost the dressing room. Has he signed players that lack the stomach for the fight? Are they just demoralised following the poor run and he lacks the ability to lift them? Are his tactics so confusing that there's eleven headless chickens out there? Are there too many personal issues (Diakite, Cisse, maybe Mbia) affecting performances and Hughes has just been unlucky? Was Hughes simply complacent having splashed the cash and had a reasonably good summer, and thought the squad would speak for itself, so the thrashing by the Swans was a kick in the soft dangly collection that the Rs have failed to recover from? Have the injuries highlighted poor strength in depth? Probably all of the above in various measures. But Hughes has to hold his hands up here. As I said, momentum is gathering and only a stunning reversal in fortunes will save him. (Its kinda a win-win for the fans, I guess.)
He only returned to Kuala Lumpur a few days ago, where are you getting this from? Similarly Flyer, Beard hasn't tweeted anything, is there a news article i'm missing?
Well hope they are in the process of changing the Manager one way or other FFS. They can have Board meetings on a video link - no need to for any of them to fly anywhere. Just do it TF!
No disrespect to you Cerny, but the last few rumours you've posted have included Robinho/Hughes sacking yesterday, none of which have transpired. I really want to believe you, but based on past experience just can't bring myself to It would really help if you gave a hint as to how you get your information? Is it a member of staff at the club? I'm sure it wouldn't jepoardise their position if you don't mention their name!
Where did you get that pic of Swords? Beard was on SSN telling them about the meeting. I would imagine they all agreed over the phone they dont want him and thats why he was asked to resign. Now they will get together to discuss the payoff and the potential new manager. Theres no more training until Thursday so we could see the new man then, even if we dont, they might let him have Man U as he will never get a result there and spare the new man the embarrassment of losing heavily in his 1st game.
I've just read that Hughes took training today and Beard was there, along with a shareholder I've never heard of!
I think they've switched to plan B, last night ( PLAN A ) was to ask him and pressure him to resign, now Tony is coming back to initiate plan B, sacking Hughes tonight!
