  1. And go to a club that was that much further down the same road <doh>

As you say, Sturridge's best season came when it was on loan at Botlon <ok>

well i think its a decent point but conversely the fact that he jumped from city to another mega rich club with anelka, torres and dorgba is also interesting.... I have to wonder if that move was purely for money.

after all we can see what attitude does when it comes to a player like suarez who's always on it, wanted to join us.. actually wanted to make the move and saw it as a good one.

does sturridge really want to move for football or is it another big pay day? and this is why i knid of perfer to go hunt a foreign player or even a lower league player like long was before west brom snapped him up.

Just spoken to my footie reporter mate. We have deffo spoken officially to Chelsea about signing Sturridge. Doesn't put much credence in the Kavani link, although we have been linked before.

    This ^ <ok>

  4. Torres wasn't at Chelsea when Sturridge joined. Drogba and Anelka were there along with Shevchenko too <ok>

Regardless of who we sign, I hope deals are in place now so come 1st Jan, said player(s) is/are in our squad, if we are waiting for Jim White to break the news on deadline day, I won't be a happy camper!

that would be very nice indeed... i thought about this and came up with the fact that most agents/clubs seemt o want to hold out for the best deal so i think we can't assume a disaster unitl jan 31...

either we see a suarez type deal or we don't. i knid of expect either wild claims on feb 1 or seriously unhappy bunnies. who knows which.

but all in all i agree a deal in the first week would be a very good thing for us.

I was wondering that as i tpyed but just left it go. the main tneant is the boy was out of his gord if he wought he was moving from city to cheslea to play more.... he did great to get in at RW and dispalce anelka and did quite well so why can't these guys have an attitude like KUYT and play the role for a top side and not spit the dummy like sturrduge and walcott are.

Further to my earlier post, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Aye, its not as if we've just found out that were a striker or two short, we've known since end of August (if not well before that!!), I seriously hope that they've been working over time, scouting the targets and are now ready to move for their 1st choice targets, I'd rather pay 1M to 2M more early in the window and get the players we need than hold out until the end, hoping to pick up a bargain only to lose out again, bunnies will most certainly not be happy!

all good points <ok> I would hope the words of rodgers are not merely simialr to that of august 30 and 31 and the work is being done behidn the scenes.

but if we want say huntelaar.. i don't really see that one but how and ever.... then his club will want to sell but he will want to play us off to get the best deal. that could easily do donw to the wire....

I certainly agree that we ought not to be holding out for any bargains and that we have our 2 clear targets and if it takes all month to get these two targets ok....

If we've offically spoken to chelsea then i'd be thinking that a leak is not too far off then. Why? cos i'm sure if sturridge wants to leave the chavs he'll want to scam up more moeny. in august he was all for staying but he's not playing so he might go. chelsea will want to bring someone in though so would they play uss off that way too? I'd expect someone to leak offical contact.

i tell yuo what... look at the fa cup 3rd round and if sturridge gets cup tied or not.. that'll tell us all.

I think he may well come to you but only if we have replacements lined up. We are already short in the strikers department, the Torres situation is getting worse and we lose Moses to ACN in January. Expect this deal to happen late if at all i.e once we've tied up a signing or two of our own.

As I've said before, It seems Chelsea aren't happy with Sturridge's progression and attitude and as he isn't pulling up trees on the pitch, a move make sense for all concerned. Another 20 million like Henderson though please!!

I think he wasn't happy with the pro contract City offered which played a big factor. Realistically he knew he wasn't going to be a starter for either club for a while so money was probably a big thing, worrying really and indicative of the times.
