Mom is a Man United fan. It is hilarious when they start to lose, cat goes in the fire, tv remote flies... I think it will be an entertaining game to be fair, Man U are seriously dodgy at the back and I think there will be goals. And the atmosphere in these grounds and in Turkey in particular is pretty hostile. They should expect a fiery reception. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if there are more allegations of crowd racism after this... Won't Eboue be playing?
Yeah, the fact they are playing in Turkey will make it more interesting but United have already topped that group, so if they get beat, it does not matter to them, sadly
Yeah I was thinking that.. if it's not a must win game I expect to see the Man U kids. Not really worth watching that one then. There are plenty of other good teams to look out for however. Man City host Madrid, Malaga are a team I admire, and they are taking on Zenit. Not exactly a bumper week in the UCL but not bad. This is where I will be following the action, if it's not broadcast: http://www.supersport.com/live Not sure it will work for overseas though. Worth a look in any case.
We shouldn't need Walcott to win this one, and with Gerv, Arshavin, Pod, Giroud and OXO all available up front, we have enough firepower to cruise to a win.
Start strong: Chesney Sagna Merts Verm Gibbs Arteta Wilshere Cazorla Gerv Giroud Pod Get 2 or more up and rest Cazorla for Coquelin, Giroud for Chamakh & Pod for Oxo. The defense should be fine to play the full 90, Gervinho needs minutes, as does Jack. They can be told to sit back & take it easy - use the pace of Gervinho & Oxo to cause problems for the final half hour.
Any news on how bad it is ? He's had a torrid time in the past with shoulder injuries and had both operated on - people forget that he spent most of his first few seasons with us carrying or recovering from injuries.
I can't imagine it too be too long term. If it was bad, he would have been stretchered off in an ambulance. Also, he's older and more stronger than he was when he was younger, so i expect his recovery time to be quicker. I think a bit more gym time is neccessary for Walcott.
Having Gibbs back is a Godsend. Vermaelen has done okay there, but he's not got the pace to play the position properly. Agree about AOC in front of Gervinho, but it's great to have them both available again
Good to have OXO and Gervinho available up front. We should have enough up front to make that impact. Also, how has Arshavin been of recent?
So if Theo's injury is indeed short term, we only have Diaby and Rosicky left as the long term injuries. Finally, we might be able to rotate the squad properly.
