Why do you people always not have Nolan into your expected teams for next season???

He is the club captain, top goalscorer, and his workrate and ability are excellent. He will not be dropped, and he will play every game.

So please, at least put him in your teams.

And no comments about him not being quick enough, and not good enough defensively. He is still as quick as most of the players in our team, and does work hard at the back, despite playing the AM role.

    Thank You.

It's surely no coincidence that when Nolan hasn't played we have been very poor this season.

Why do we always seem to get threads asking why people don't have him in their teams?

Personally this is what I want next season:
    Harper
    Simpson Samba Coloccini Ferguson
    Barton Nolan Tiote Jonas
    Ba Ben Arfa

The problem is that from Pardew's comments it sounds like Ben Arfa will be playing in his central attacking midfield role next season.

    I wasn't aware we did.

    That looks a nice team.

If Jose leaves surely we'll manage more than 2 new players making starting 11 but I don't have a clue who they'll be. Saw highlights of West Ham game and Ba didn't really impress, but then again no-one from West Ham impressed.

Ba is a good player but his knee has been suspect for a while now. He's failed two medicals in two years.

    Here's the dilemma...

Most people want an out and out winger on the right and left
That means Barton and Tiote would move into the centre, as you would drop Nolan over them two
Who would you prefer playing AM, Ben Arfa or Nolan?

Therefore Nolan would not get into most starting elevens. However how often will that entire midfield five be all available? Nolan will start a lot next year whether or not he is first choice.

Yeah there is no way he would, or even should be dropped IMO he's a great captain. Look at what he's given us this season, you can tell he has a massive influence on the team.

I'd sign Ireland and I think Pardew will too, Pardew has reportedly impressed with him in training. Perhaps another loan with view to permanent is on the cards.

Samba is wishful thinking but it's thinking that I like!!!

I would also look to replace Gutierrez as a winger and push him Attacking Midlfield (were Ireland is), his end product is just far too poor but I don't know who I'd want. Also we probably gonna have to sign another LB and I personally can't see any further than Van Aanholt. Hopefully Mr. Carr will come up trumps in this summers transfer window!

Because apart from his goals he offers little much else from midfield, you talk about his work rate but I must say I dont see it, many times this season I've seen him walking or jogging back when other teams are on the counter, many times I've seen Gutierrez hold the ball up on the wing and Nolan not doing a thing to help, just standing there with his hands on his hips, hes an average CM without the goals.

If we really are looking to push on up the league unfortunately at some point Nolan might have to be left behind.

I'm grateful for everything hes done for the club and is a great leader and captain but thats just the way it is.

    Agree with all....

....Nolan admitted himself that the club is progressing quickly and within his time at the club it will progress further than his ability will allow him to hold down a first team place... that time is coming next season. Step aside Mr Nolan, looks like Mr Ireland, Gosling, Ben Arfa, (Guthrie?) are taking over.

This, he might repeat goalscoring heroics next season but the year after that he will just become a liability to us.

I think he will be in the team, but to really progress he's not European class.

IMO he's a great captain and even if he only has got a couple of years in him he's worth playing for the leadership, work rate and goals

the one thing no-one else brings up is that with him, tiote, barton and jonas we have 3 people cappable of flooring someone with one tackle and the others Jonas who works very hard tracking back. No-one in their right mind would want to play against that midfield
