Been away for a while so sorry if this has been posted before . http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/business/10052525.Saints_ordered_to_pay___60k_debt_by_court/?ref=rss anything to be concerned about , or crap ?
Nothing to be worried about at all. Gaston cost £12mill so I'm sure NC can find 60k down the back of his sofa!
Comment on Echo site: "No surprise that the club did not comment. Makes you wonder what has happened at the training ground and if another argument will be heading to the courts. We are not covering ourselves in glory on or off the pitch this season we are already strating to get a bad reputation with suppliers with many grumbling that we don't pay up. This is yet another example of bad money management from the chairman.”
What, just because we haven't paid 60k to some business. It would be serious if we didn't have the money to pay them. But as we do, it isn't. And this is from the ****test paper on the face of the earth.
why don't we just pay it surely we are not skint so whats the reason to with hold payment to a local business.
Heard Cortese wanted a deduction in what he had to pay as they didn't finish on time. Nothing to worry about, the training ground is going ahead and that costs far more .
The daft thing was letting it go to court and then not defending it. If you feel in the right, defend it. If you choose to cut your losses, pay up before court charges apply. The judge remarked on that. Heads should roll...unless it was Nicola of course
Storm in a teacup as per usual in these kinds of situation. Confusing situation, you would assume Cortese or someone else in charge of these matters is unhappy about something to do with work quality or time frames or some such, but the lack of word or representation from the club clouds the whole story. But who knows, who cares? Hopefully we're not unfairly treating businesses and holding back money we owe and they deserve for no reason, but really none of us especially the Echo have any idea so this is all mostly speculation and fairly pointless.
Sorry Fran . I think Trixter is joking and yeah , my take is the echo looking for a story where there is not really one .
Not making a final payment on a commercial contract due to a number of reasons, normally around a miss-understanding of the original requirements, is a regular part of business operations and happens in 1000's of businesses across the country on a daily basis. This is nothing unusual, and is certainly not underhand nor devious nor unethical. As usual, it is the local rag just stirring things up and trying to find trouble where there isn't any IMO...
