Yorkshire, check out my album! For everyone have a look here, did Keith play for England? http://www.tulsasoccerclub.com/index.php?ct=KeithEddy
Williams - yes, would be found 'wanting'. But not Chopper! Not the 'White Luther'! He was a true hero, a true legend and true to Watford. Could have played for a bigger club but simply loved us too much to leave. Could have played for England - would have played for England if Sir Alf had bothered to watch him. Wash your mouth out sir! And prove me wrong if you can
Didn't think so, the picture on the link suggests that but if you look closely the badge on his shirt isn't the three Lions. Suspect it was some US competition, perhaps Vic-r knows. Notwithstanding, Keith played with Pele and Bobby Moore, no minor achievement! I had also forgotten that Ken Furphy managed the NYC and took Eddy and Scullion there in the late 70's.
Never one to argue, but....... Keith did actually play for an English FA XI - at least twice that I know of, once in Ireland and once in Australia. I had the pleasure of watching him play against Australia in Brisbane in 1971 - in the same team as Mike Keen. Not strictly 'England', I know, but he was an Englishman representing England as far as the locals were concerned.
A lot more than twice as I've just discovered! http://www.rsssf.com/tablese/engfaxi-oceania69.html http://www.rsssf.com/tablesb/britishfatours.html#1971ENG Seems Mickey Walker was over there too at the same time, playing for Wales.
46 - Ken Furphy had some great stories about Eddy at NY Cosmos when he was at the Captains night at The Vic last year. He took over penalty taking duties from Pele!!
OK Bolton - yes I was being a bit narrow and focussing on England proper but your "unearthing" of his England representation shows what a great player he was
Interesting read chaps. A lot of the players mentioned have been interviewed for my website, www.watfordlegends.com, and many of the others including Duncan Welbourne are lined up for next season. I would love to hear your feedback on the site?
Is that the same Watford Legends site i'm signed up to? If so, i love it .if not, i love it anyway! And welcome to not606
Thank you for the welcomes! No it isn't Pricey, however I do know him well and so I know that registering for a forum is far beyond his technical capabilities! Out of interest, when I was talking to Pricey last week he was telling me that he is the manager for the London Masters on the 9th of July at Wembley - I will be going and I am pretty sure it will be a good day out.
Do you mean some sort of report of the day? If so then yes, no problem. There are some decent names in the squad from recent years. Duncan welbourne is on the list for next years legends interviews by the way, I'm hoping he will be an interesting one.
