what are the thoughts of some of the forum users............can wales buck a trend and start reviving our economy through the sale of cannabis and the tax that will flood in from sales.
do you buy weed or do you grow it? if you grow it yourself you wont be affected really, you arent harming anyone other than yourself if you grow it for personal consumption and no-one else so legalise and tax it would be a solution. however by legalising it you are telling kids / teens its ok to take it......... i doubt we will though.....
"however by legalising it you are telling kids / teens its ok to take it".........it would be in the same bracket as booze so.....if the rules are bent for extra cash then close the store/cafe/chemist.......simples ps i grow but like different tastes and feelings that come with different strains......so would still buy>>>>>it would be like brewing your own booze>>>>do we do when there is better on the shelf????not many do tbh
swamp i`d be more worried about the amounts of sugars and e-numbers going into our kids bodies at the moment than a herb tbh......the biggest killer in the uk is and will continue 2 be diabetes so maybe education will stop this rising problem.
my only concern on legalization is testing levels are gonna be very very hard 2 work out, cannabis compaired 2 most chemicals(rejected in 24hrs) people use for recreational reasons stay in the body for a number of weeks and even going in 2 months before the body rejects this herb........its gonna be interesting seeing how they will control someone smoking on the day 2 someone smoking a month ago. how do u set up a vote system on here so people can have they say on the subject without putting themselves in the spotlight, just a simple yes or no 2 legalization in wales
a referendum, they dont happen very often (next is 2014), would get people talking about it if nothing else, a while back it was category C, now its B again, so i cant see it happening tbh.....
aber, if you start a new thread, there is a 'post a poll' option at the bottom of the page aber, you know my views...If there was a way of legalising cannabis, it would get my vote but there are too 'negatives' in this country that it just wouldn't happen. ^ this I 100% agree with....I've seen more damage caused through alcohol than through cannabis use
incredible init>>>>>me and millions of other cannabis smokers are blanked out of society whilst alcohol ruins our country and is being sold at knock down prices in supermarkets and corner shops
why didnt our government like the report that professor nutt leaked details of>>>>after it all the government set this reliable and detailed study up in the first place. i find it very strange that politicians feel more qualified 2give the truth on drugs compared 2 top scientists

tbh ive given up on talking sense,we should leave it as it is yeah>>>>its working a treat init all this lets leave it blackmarket so criminals get stronger and stronger in financial power......kids can buy weed anywhere NOW thanks 2 the pc brigade and the english laws in my country.........in my ideal world it would be licenced and out of reach of minors. lets ban alcohol i say fking rid the streets of pissed up vermin
http://www.knowcannabis.org.uk/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/emotional_health/addictions/cannabis.shtml Sorry Aber I'm unsure of the best course of action, I used to work for an anti-drug charity and have seen both sides. I agree that people should be given all the facts good or bad and then make their minds up. ps I have never taken any illegal drugs but smoked for 30 years (give it up 6 years ago) and also like alcohol and as you say both can lead to more problems than cannabis.
My main issue with the current setup is that plenty of weed dealers also deal 'harder' drugs. All of a sudden a kid who 6 months a go wanted to smoke a bit of weed has access to amphetamines, MDMA, coke etc. legalise it, control it, and make some money out of it for hmrc. Dealers don't ask for ID.
While 2 states are to make it legal the feds will bust anyone selling it as they have done in states where "medical margie" is legal as it is still not allowed by the federal law. It's a lot more complicated than you think.
I really do not know where I stand on this issue. On the one hand I agree to the legalising of cannabis but it must be strictly controlled. However, doing that will not stop the black market and those strict controls, which are meant to protect the youngsters, will be ignored and the youngsters will still pay over the odds and have access to harder drugs. Lelalising cannabis will produce a much bigger drug industry and the criminal element will be legitimised making it harder to police the industry. Operating outside the law usually enhances the price of an attractive (to the buyer) product. Operating inside the the law the criminal element will have loop holes to exploit until robust and rigid laws are in place. It will also lead to even more corruption in the establishment. Hmm, no easy solution to this one.
stevo is spot on at the moment drugs are being sold freely around britain and the people selling them dont care who buys or what they get hooked on>>>>>>>this is the reason 2 pull cannabis out of the drug window.......thats simple do sort out you take control of it(taxes). dave im shocked you dont know where 2 stand on this one>>>giving the fact you admit drinking and at the same time admit cannabis causes less problems should be a clear sign that this should be sold legally by licensed premises. lads lets look at the facts here guys britain is smoking lots at present and have been for a long time, the person your standing next 2 could be stoned and you wouldnt have a clue>>>>>if someone was pissed next 2 you im sure u would soon move away from him/her. why i am i outside the law, while drinkers are allowed 2 take theyre choice drug freely and at the same time make our streets look like a blood bath every weekend, thats without the hospital costs per weekend from alcohol related issues
taff your way off the mark dude no offence but you havnt got a clue on this subject by the sounds of it
welshman its incredible how a states people can vote in something and yet the dea can have powers that overide theyre decision>>>>>>im not sure a free country is run that way is it>>>>>>i can tell thee these free countries we are supposed 2 be living in aint that free at all really are they
Aber, in what way am I way off the mark? I freely admit I don't know a lot about drugs or drug users but I do know a bit about supply and demand. Legalising cannabis makes it more freely available and therefore cheaper as it becomes mass produced (even more than it is now). The criminal element will see it as a way of legitimising their business and yes they will continue to deal in hard drugs. Youngsters are not allowed access to drugs now and shouldn't be if it's legalised. However, the market is there for under 18s to get hold of drugs now so the black market will remain even if cannabis is legalised.
Its simple really. Anyone caught peddling drugs, Lock them up. Give them counselling when they are breaking rocks and see where it goes from there.
