bloody hell, you lot know how to pick 'em! its almost as if you are attempting to create the most poisonous atmosphere in a changing room ever. bradley orr, now barnett. i hear el hadji diouf is available in january...
What footballers do off the pitch is no concern of mine so long as they do the business on it. I don't go in for moralising
i bet you'd be pissed off if one of them went to prison for the night and you missed them for an important match cos they got 'tanked up' there's a time and a place. players should be allowed to live a little but they should also behave themselves within the law. i wonder what you'd have said had jewell brought in these players?
Gary Croft played with an electronic tag! As far as I know none of the players concerned were charged with anything
pretty sure bradley orr was jailed for a couple of months a few years ago, though i'm happy to be proven wrong on that. i know for a fact he assaulted one of his team mates not so long ago on the pitch. sounds like a nice lad... misdemeanours off the pitch don't make players bad footballers (though i'd argue they're not good) but my point was that your dressing room is like a ticking time bomb! reo-coker, chopra, martin, edwards, orr, barnett, mohsni, carson, jet... all have 'reputations'.
you're blatantly (and i suspect purposely) ignoring the point. you're in a hole and you're bringing in players who are good at digging holes. not a good combo - the only way is down.
I may be a little bit sheltered and Naive so please could you explain the reputation these players have? Particularly from your point of view. I'm genuinely interested as to whether they are for being a bit daft (in Edwards case) or for something more sinister...
I have seen Tyrone Barnett play for Crawley many times and I back Mick's Judgement and have faith that he will get the best out of him. MM would not sign him if he had any doubts about him and from what I've seen of Barnett he will be a good addition to the squad.
sure, probably should have explained it anyway. i'm not saying they are all criminals! reo-coker - arrogant fool, loves his drink, often been labeled nigel trouble-maker chopra - arrogant fool, loves his drink and gambling and horses martin - arrogant fool, loves his drink edwards - loves his drink and driving orr - loves a fight, sometimes with team mates, sometimes with members of the public barnett - ditto orr mohsni - loves a fight with anyone he can find, complete maniac carson - arrogant fool, loves a drink jet - arrogant fool, loves a drink now all clubs, if you look hard enough will have 'bad eggs' but the sheer volume of 'bad eggs' at ipswich is not a good sign in a relegation battle and yet your manager is adding more of them. i think you can see that for yourselves on a regular basis
Shock! Horror! There are some footballers that love their drink and are arrogant! Well who would have thunk it!
Crikey you make him sound like a better version of Wilfred Zaha! Also, I know you are above Peterborough in the league, but I would hardly put Ipswich on a higher level than Peterborough! Would of loved to have seen your reaction to this signing had it been a Paul Jewell one.
Believe it or not Carra I would have approved! Jewell was after signing him in January but couldn't get the deal done!
up to you how seriously you take it mate but i can assure you that you will feel very aggrieved if you go down because so many of your players care more about 'having a good time drinking and gambling' than they do their football.
Thanks for expanding on your points Supers but I can't agree with them all, although I am in no position to be making judgements... I personally wouldn't say that your comments on Martin, Carson and JET are particularly fair. Yes they have been seen in town having a drink or two and occasionally been seen a bit 'worse for wear' but I wouldn't call that being a 'bad egg' In fact I would call that growing up as they are all youngsters In fact to turn things around on the many nights I've spent in my youth out in Norwich I've seen many Norwich players in Mercy (Hate that place) and even this weekend my mates mum who has a season ticket saw Morrison in Nando's less than an hour after the game gorging on some Peri Peri chicken and a beer to wash it down, I wouldn't call that being a bad egg.. But I appreciate what you are trying to say I just don't think all those mentioned should be tarnished with the same brush
