Good thinking - this debacle may even strengthen ties between the grey men behind TF, and the Mittals, which might not be a bad thing

I think all this stuff about Harry is bull####. Once again a rumour starts and snowballs and it comes from the usual places.
For starters TF has just flown home from the USA and will be going to bed as they are about 7/8 hrs in front of us. He has tweeted that he needs time to think but that won't be until tonight surely?
If nothing is heard by 6pm tonight the usual suspects (Mystic Megs) will start to panic and start back peddling with lines of 'it takes time TF is not the only person to say' Even though he is the majority share holder? or 'I'm only passing on what i have heard'?

    Sadly
These rumours start with a few people that think they are ITK when they are not. I have said many times that TF/Amit/PB are not going to discuss something important as a manager sacking with 'Dave the QPR fan'.
All that happens is someone hears a rumour (normally from a bad source) passes it on and like 'Chinese whispers', snowballs. Because Harry is unemployed he is obviously the man taking over.

Recently we were told Amit and the Mittals would be leaving in Oct by some guy that lives in a bin in Poland and that snowballed out of control. Even when Amit tweeted saying he was staying the 'rumour brigade' picked out one word and put a 'spin on it'. Well guys they are here working on QPR futures, and as Amit tweeted, he is 'gutted with the result'.

We are all on a downer because of our clubs position, even me a long term supporter of Hughes (until what he has quoted in the last 2 days) is gutted at what i am seeing.
All i would say is don't put your hope in rumours because as we have seen in the past 99% are wrong and the 1% is lucky guess work. <ok>

Flyer's assumption is groundless, I wouldn't rely on it. QPR is in fact a subsidiary of QPR Sun Bhd, which itself may be a subsidiary of Tune Group Bhd, both Malaysian companies. Tony's partner in Tune Group is Kamarudin, who is vice chair and also deputy CEO of AirAsia. These two go back for over a decade, they are they key decision makers. It is just as likely that QPR Sun Bhd is majority owned by Tony, giving him 51% of QPR, the other two Malaysian directors 7.5% each and Mittal the remaining 33%. I don't know
Why trust one poster more than another? Unless of course you simply prefer the speculation one provides, which is fair enough I suppose. But believe me, a boardroom split is far more serious than Zamora eating his cheese and pickle sandwiches in a corner, as it will leave the club paralysed.

Agree Ellers. I don't think TF will rush to chop & appoint. He's now in Malaysia. I have no idea where the other board members are to hold an EGM. I read somewhere that TF isn't even planning on being in the UK before the Man U game?

Even if the concensus is to chop Hughes they need time to check out & interview / meet the prospective candidates. Then there's the negotiations on pay-offs etc with Hughes and his staff.

I honestly think TF thought we'd beat Soton and for that reason hasn't made a Plan B on Hughes future - hence the general silence around the club.

My gut feeling is today is too early, I would expect the new man to take his 1st training session on Thursday.

I cant comprehend that thought, we might as well keep him and he will leave when we go down, it would save a massive amount of money, theres no point sacking him at xmas because we will be too far gone.

I get the feeling that the damage is done anyway.....the players aren't good enough and the pack is starting to make distance. Hughes isn't good enough to change things and a new manager, be it Harry or any other poor sod has a complete pig stye to try and clean. For me we are down....I'm still going to attend, but really can't see things changing with these premadona players in the twighlights of their careers aren't going to fight for the cause as they hang thier boots up once thier contacts are up.

Lets just hope we bounce back.

CB/Secret I have never wanted you to be correct with an ITK as much as do right now. If Harry is here by 23:59 NEXT Moday, yes I will even give you 7 days grace. I will change my Username in your honour!

the whole transfer structure was wrong from the start, we didn't keep the band of players from last year, hh poor decision better than bz & should have kept DJ here & now we can see why with lack of goals, i was gobsmacked saturday watching that, no leader nothing & couldn't up there game, christ they new the importance of it but then saying if we had won it was papering over cracks, there's something seriously wrong in that camp performing like that, will redknapp or who ever be any better blimey can't be much worse.
where are the young ones coming through like we had with gallens & allen?

Wasn't intending to trust one poster over another, SB. There's a lot of speculation generally over the owners because the facts behind QPR, the company, and its owners are hard to come by. You've just given me more than I've seen for some time.

No one seems to know the shareholding between the Malaysians. TF seems to have developed a close friendship with Hughes - shrewd businessman that he is, he may not be that objective over this - it seems to me, his fellow Malaysian shareholders may try, with the Mittals, to get him to see things from another perspective. Flyer makes the point that this may give TF a way-out without looking disloyal to Hughes or like a hire and fire merchant.

Fair enough Goldie. I think Phil Beard and Mike Rigg are the eyes and ears of the board in this, they run the club on a day to day basis. I know Rigg has history with Hughes, but he was at Citeh for 2 years after Hughes got the boot there, they did not want to lose him and I would hope he would be unbiased.

I don't think the board can beat themselves up for appointing Hughes in the first place. He had a good record in the Prem. Perhaps the manner of our survival should have triggered some alarm bells, but with the new players coming in (I am not going to pretend I had doubts, thought they strengthened the team hugely and Diakite, Granero, Hoilett and M'bia, new contract for Adel especially exciting) made it feel like a bright new start for this season.

Now they must be stunned - our worst start in 130 years, who on earth saw that coming? Certainly not me. The abject nature of the defeat on Saturday wiped out the lingering memories of the brief previous hopeful signs.

    Now they have to decide:
    - can we stay up? History of teams in a similar position would indicate no, but there is still a long way to go and the gap is not insurmountable...... If we start winning.
    - is Hughes the man to keep us up - well we know what we all believe
    - who else is available and what would the change cost - new coaching team in, transfer kitty, old coaching team compensation etc
    - does the business model mean we can afford to change?
    - are we prepared to take the calculated risk that we change managers and still go down...

If they think we are doomed already might as well stick with Hughes, try to offload as many expensive players as we can in the January window, and prepare for the Championship.

But Fernandes does not strike me as a quitter, and the club is useless to him as a brand vehicle in the Championship, so I think we will be rolling the dice, albeit reluctantly and with no little financial risk....

    Good Afternoon Not606ers,

Newbie here, having been converted on the road to Damascus (actually in the Crown & Sceptre) on Saturday afternoon and having been introduced to a couple of you. I hope that those that traveled over from Ireland had an enjoyable weekend (excluding the 2hrs between 3-5pm on Saturday which none of us enjoyed).

I am sure if I have fallen foul of any first post initiation rites you will let me know.

My take on this is that getting rid of MH is not easy for TF as I think he is now in the deep stuff over backing MH and I feel that his next publicly seen decisions will depend largely on his ego, and as importantly, the actual amount of power he wields on the board, compared to the lesser known investors and the Mittals. We have been hearing rumours for months that the Mittals are not happy with the current financial model (and yes I know that a certain Mr Jones has been pontificating about them pulling out in October and has been proven wrong) and let's face it, Amit Bhatia has been quiet to the best of my knowledge (but then again I don't do Twitter). So TF might be caught between a rock and a hard place because the rest of he board will be complaining that bringing in a new manager usually means more transfer kitty and at this stage are they going to want to throw more money at this "project" when TF appears to have gotten it very wrong and backed the wrong horse.

For all his Mr Nice Guy public face, I suspect that TF will be spitting feathers that he is now being made to look bad in the footballing workd and unless MH has him under some sort of Rasputin spell, TF will be giving MH it with both barrels and telling him that we had better be out of the bottom 3 before 1st Jan otherwise he will have to either publicly sack him or MH will have to agree to fall on his sword - which I cannot see MH doing.

Do I want MH to go - Yes, I was willing to give him until the Southampton result was in.
Do I think he will no - Not yet, I dont think TF wants to be seen to have backed the wrong horse yet and will try and ride this out a little longer. But God help MH AND TF if we are still cast adrift on Christmas Day.

I always thought Secret Ranger got his rumours from twitter, so it's unsurprising that this has turned out to be unfounded. Ah well :emoticon-0101-sadsm
