For me no!!! He wouldn't have had the chance were it not for Hart's poor header and the even worse defending that forced Hart into the situation. Don't get me wrong, it was a great goal showing terrific athleticism and opportunism but for me the best goals are those constructed through team play, e.g. Carlos Alberto in the 1970 World Cup Final or brilliant individualism in a period of play longer than just a split second, e.g. Maradona v. England in the '86 World Cup. We have seen some great goals at City in recent seasons although I would class Hudson's long range effort from last year in a similar vein to Ibra wotsit's. My favourite is Whitts tee up and volley following JET's lob pass against Barnsley (I think ) last season. That was a real get you out of your seat moment as were both Whitt's and Bellers' free kicks at CCS this season and Bellers' "Taking the Liberty" goal a couple of seasons ago. Thoughts gentlemen and ladies?
of its kind one of the best recent goals, but what defines a great goal? for build up play: for importance: or pure strike plenty more i can think of too
Some crackers there Swamp all apart from possibly Beckham's better than Ibra thingy. Toss up between Argentina and Zidane for me.
It was a great strike from Ibrahimovic of that there is no doubt, so perhaps the greatest strike at goal but not the greatest goal. To attempt an overhead kick from that distance is audacious and he would never have attempted it if Joe Hart had been anywhere near his goal line. With the game already won there was no pressure on Sweden or Ibrahimovic who had already scored his hat trick so no pressure on him. As an individual effort a great strike but I think Gigg's goal against Arsenal, a few years back, in the FA cup was a better individual effort as he went passed a number of players and the stakes were higher so some pressure on Giggs to score after making that run. For audacity look at Alonso, Beckham and our own Huds with goals from the half way line, again all keepers off their line. Hmm, so no not the greatest goal ever.
The best goal of all time was scored by the best player of all time. Think this was voted no.1 recently as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk-kXwjASEE
But all you ever hear about that game is the "hand of god" goal which I think is a shame considering this goal was top drawer. Don't agree he was the greatest player ever, for me a toss up between Pele and George Best.
Ibra's goal was class but there have been so many better goals. I actually prefer Crouch's goal last season, as well as various goals by Messi, Maradona, Neymar, Ronaldo, Zidane, Le Tissier, Bergkamp. I've just realised the best thing about when a worldy is scored is I get to think back and remember all the other worldies I've seen. Gotta love youtube for this too
yep maradona is the best ive seen both in best goal and best player>>>>but 2many great goals 2 mention in my book but over the years your really are gonna go into thousands if u keep digging>>>>i did enjoy scott youngs toe in from 3 yards mind
this man would have saved ibra`s pearler "easy pips"

His first post for ages and you abuse him. No wonder we keep losing posters. Your flirting with Minxy has sent Cling back into hiding again. And don't be nasty to me because I'm a delicate little flower and will cry to my mummy if you do!
It's going OK Scull - just like our team at the mo. Packed the rat race in on my 55th in September pal, drewdown some pension plans early and now work (shirk?) from home when I need to. Nice to see you post again despite my rather irreverent welcome!
