Oh I know now he isn't but there were times he's lost his job when he's shown signs of doing alright & others where he's gone nowhere ....but it always seems to lead to the inevitable.
With the state of Bilbao this season and how they are not doing as well as many would have hoped, I would have a good look at their players llorente Muniain Susaeta Ander Herrara Amoribieta Mikel San jose lots of positions that we could use.
yes they do have some players we might be able to snatch. I am of the opinion we have enough "local heart" and desperately need some foreign "flair" borini and dempsey were rodgers thoughts. I hope he's realised that was an error and moves on to better targets. I also hope FSG see clealry that without INVESTMENT you simply can't magic a 4th spot. Yes they allowed us to spend the torres cash and 40mil net but thats 40mil... not 100mil. and if they even gave the remaining 60mil with the proviso to but at least 3 player sout of it then I tink we could improve.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a gamble on Villarreal's former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi, 25, as he bids to solve his striker shortage, even though the forward is out with knee ligament damage at the moment.
I read that in the Mirror except they said that we've contacted Valencia with regards to Rossi - Epic fail! Rossi seems to get these big injuries so I'd be reluctant to splash out on him. Great shouts on the Bilbao players - young and talented players. Although they could be very loyal so it might be tricky to entice them.
Also, Tom Werner has come out and said that we won't be selling Luis Suarez and we will be investing in Janaury (and avoiding the same mistakes). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...d-deliver-in-the-January-transfer-window.html Encouraging stuff
Valencia... Rossi is the sort of player I expect Rodgers to be looking at; knows where the goal is and can play from a wide position which enables us to leave Suarez in the middle. Not too old and will be making a step up from Villareal who are in the second tier of Spanish football. However, he has had some big injury problems over the last couple of years and he is currently out with an ligament problem, do we really want to gamble (again) on a Aquilani / Carroll type situation? Having said that, this is what Newcastle did with four or five of their recent star signings too
He is a good player but the injuries are a concern. Unless we get him for a ridiculously low fee, then I wouldn't take the risk.
for me FSG last chance saloon. people are not believing them on the stadium thing. if they don't invest WISELY and show thier mettle then i think the majority of fans will turn on them. “Our intention is to strengthen but actions will speak louder than words,” he said. “We are playing better and better each week. Obviously, we have made some mistakes in the past but our intention is to deliver, strengthen the squad and move forward. “We know that January is a challenging time and I don’t want to say we’ve got x or y but, hopefully, the fans will be pleased with what we do accomplish.” thats fairly simple and direct. its what an reasonbale fan would say, deliver action. I also think if nothing happens unitl jan 31 there will be a huge fan backlash before then... just my personal opinion.
Not me, I believe tey are a million times better than the last owners and so long as they let us spend within our means then I have no issues
But Bilbao have a big love for the English game. I think their badge and the foudning fathers of the club were all brits. Think it is a basque way to be loyal which if we could get any of those would only be a good thing. Can't believe no one is sniffing around Navas and Negredo either at Sevilla.
@Liddellpool: #LFC close in on January loan signing of Sporting Lisbon winger Jeffren Suarez according to Portuguese newspaper Record Two Suarez up front? Ha ha, the haters will get all confused!
I have had a feeling that it may well turn out that way, Walcott will be a free agent in the Summer imo.
Not to fussed about him myself, I think he'd add something but their's plenty of other options we could look in to, mind you, I wouldn't say no
cheaper options or rather, better value for money out there as well. We would have to cough up at least 15 mil, minimum.
Well his contract is up in the Summer so really we should get him for around 8m, though mind you, we are Liverpool do 15m could be about right
