He hasn't. We played good stuff under him last time too. It was the options he had at Hull that made him play negative football.
Odd, when we first got him we were (by Leicester fans) told his football was dull and relied on lots of defence and hoofing the ball (a bit like we were told about Jack Hobbs).
I wouldn't call it dull, but his philosophy has changed to what it was. We used to play Howard and Fryatt, the big and little duo and it worked a treat. Now we play with dynamic attacking. Waggy, Nuge, Knocky, Marshy and Vards can all play on the wings or in the middle and their movement, coupled with Kingys and Drinkys passing makes for some really eye catching football.
As ACKJ said, we didn't have the players to play the passing game as we do now (although we did occasionally) but we we're certainly a good direct attacking side. We didn't try to win on the break like Hull did.
I wasn't referring to his time at Leicester, but his time at Hull. I think we almost managed a goal a game average under Nige.
I think it was like 0.734 goals a game or something Naah, we were very boring under Pearson, and it was agonising to watch at times, especially when we lost but then again, he didn't have much to work with considering we were almost in liquidation. We were solid, great defensive record but he couldn't seem to get that attacking edge here for some reason. Coming to think of it, Pearson did say that Hull was a working project and he wanted 2 more transfer windows to be where he actually wanted to be but of course, he went back to Leicester so we never know what would have happened. All I can say is, he's certainly found the attacking edge at Leicester.
As has been mentioned, it's working for him with you, but when Nigel was managing us, we were the lowest scoring team in the Championship(we only stayed in the running as we were the lowest conceding team too).
Bruce has only bought one player and he's not even playing(and contrary to reports, he cost £1m, the rest is based on appearances, promotion etc). Nigel spent £5m. Nigel had way more to spend than Bruce, but thanks for confirming that Bruce has done a better job with his recruitment.
Nigel also had 3 transfer windows and had to release players before he could bring anyone in. You wouldn't still be in this division if it wasn't for Nige, such was the state of your squad and Bruce has done what Sven did and that is sign players on very good wages on frees. Plus we both know that Proschwitz cost 3m euros, it says so on your own website. No point in making up facts.
