Based on these two pieces, no. Tellingly, here's an excerpt from the second article: " I would suggest Redknapp has taken Tottenham as far as he can, and that they need a manager of the tactical astuteness of someone like Rafa Benitez to take them forward and compete with the best teams in England and Europe." http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sp...ry_Redknapp_is_not_the_right_man_for_England/ "A magnificent ability to improve players? Hardly. Redknapp's Tottenham side have been a pleasure to watch this season, but their success has been bought in, something that is rather difficult to do at international level. " " Is Redknapp an advocate of a progressive approach? Hardly. Listen to this from van der Vaart earlier this season: “There are no long and boring speeches about tactics, like I was used to at Real Madrid. There is a clipboard in our dressing room but Harry doesn't write anything on it.It's not that we do nothing (in training) - but it's close to that. For instance, last weekend Gareth Bale scored a header against Blackburn from my corner. But we didn't train one minute on it, it was pure luck. Good kicking, good heading, nothing more.” " "Barely literate, exceptionally laissez-faire when it comes to money, almost boasting about his refusal to grasp or utilise modern technology." http://footballspeak.com/post/2012/04/26/welcome-approach-for-Harry.aspx "All of the above points have contributed to Redknapp being exposed as not having a successful 'Plan B' to turn to when his thin-on-quality squad was stretched in key areas."
Posted very similar on another thread a couple of days ago. Hugely overrated, but if he comes no choice but to get behind him. My respect for TF will drop though.
The article must have only been written by an Arsenal fan. It's not the sort of article we should start taking seriously, especially since footballspeak have published so much transfer and sacking BS in the past. I can't believe people are taking Harry's potential move for granted. The job he has done for Tottenham is outstanding, there's no way anyone can deny that.
It feels like there are just as many who don't want Redknapp as there were who didn't want Hughes initially. This LFW thread is quite lengthy, but has some interesting suggestions as to who might be appropriate: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_mb.php?m=v&t=67998#59
None of the candidates really get my juices going. Could see Benitez being a bit similar to Hughes. Part of me would like Redknapp in as I want people to like us again. My ideal choice would be Martinez but don't know if we could tempt him away.
I dont think Benitez is the right man tbh. He no doubt can get the tactics right - but is not really a motivator is he? That is what we need right now with this bunch of players.
I don't believe Redknapp is the best man, would prefer someone like Holloway who could motivate and inspire the players. We've seen what hyped up so called big hitters can do !!
I think at this stage we are at now only redknapp fits the bill til the end of the season and take it from there. We can't hire an unknown or another clown but who's to say this clown is leaving.
I'm not sure whether i'm reading too much into this, but very little new content was loaded onto the Official Site on sunday. All we got was a highlights video. Usually there's all sorts of placatory articles/interviews after a bad loss, it feels a bit like they're holding back for the moment. Waiting for something? Drafting a new manager profile perhaps..
Because of the situation we've allowed ourselves to get in, Redknapp is the ONLY OPTION. One thing is for sure, the countish behaviour being currently exhibited will be no more. Even more so if Joe Jordan comes with him. Rest assured, most of these players will not be looking forward to someone like Redknapp coming in but will love it after a few weeks. Those of you that think that Harry is a one trick pony are being extremely harsh and not looking at what he's developed in the past. I would have prefered Benitez but we don't have the time now, if we want to get out of this, it can only be Arry!
Nope, because that's just too scary a thought. This is now a shot to nothing, their reputations will not be blighted by failure here, keeping us up now will be akin to getting CL with Spurs or Liverpool. Relegation and it's just the mad QPR circus and Mark Hughes that did it. This is one of those great jobs with the cash and glory to come, they'll jump at it.
