Absolutely delighted with the result, in particular for one person, Nigel Adkins!!! He seems to have recovered his poise in both pre- and post-match interviews in recent weeks after suffering such a torrid time in the media. Perhaps his tete a tete with Nicola Cortese after the WBA game, has restored confidence in himself and the team. Let the battle to stay in the Premiership commence.
But let's all realise that our great football was played against a rabble, not a well-drilled squad like Newcastle or Norwich. We're at the back of a chasing pack and to move up in the race need other teams to have bad patches soon. UTS
Was going to write something similar - we did play very well - but we were able to do so because the opposition was so poor. We have seen that both Villa and QPR are poor sides that we can take apart - but there are not too many more 'gifts' in this league. Let us hope we can put on together a small run and hope those above us suffer losses - not good news today about Norwich and Reading - those are two sides we don't want to see collecting wins.
Caught second half of game as realised we'd been selected for first match on Sky. Lovely to hear us described as 'outstanding' and 'you won't see better play in the PL.' This will do the teams confidence the world of good, but no doubt there will be ups and downs. At least we know that we can get points playing the game our way.
It's so nice to spend a saturday evening with a smile on my face due to a win! I've also got a little devil on my shoulder telling me that it was against a crap team and we've got harder matches to come but, hey who cares, we won and it'll give a massive shot of confidence to all the boys, especially Lambert.
But lets enjoy it while we can ... we are now better than 2 teams in the Prem, so we only need to be better than 1 more and we're looking at 17th. Our passing was sharp today, our defending is improving and Luke Shaw looks sooo mature at left back, Morgan & Corky are the biz in front of the back 4. We can only beat the team put in front of us and that's what we did. Only sour note for me was that I was looking at £300 for 2-1 and Ricky scoring first and thenn Morgan goes and scores ...

After watching the highlights on motd I thought that we played some excellent stuff and there is no doubt that the defence is improving. I take issue with those saying that that we were only so rampant as QPR were so bad. We have played excellent passing football against some of the best sides and scored some good goals, but a combination of naive defending and individual errors cost us dearly. With Ramirez and Cork fit we really start to look the part
Just wanted to say well done boys. Southampton were very good and played some excellent football. You were in control for most of the game and completely out passed us in midfield. No point in me going on about the fact that Hughes is totally inept and played the wrong formation against you as that's not your concern. We have good players but a **** team. Good luck for the rest of the season.
No, we don't need other teams to have a bad patch. We just need to have our own good run. We win 3 or 4 in the next 6 or 7 and we'll move up. It is not about what the other teams do, it is about what we do.
