It's not like Alonso was on a flying lap, they were all just winding themselves up for quick laps at the end while the track evolved.
Long way to go yet, points given out on Sunday but it isn't looking good for Alonso when he gets on those Primes...
So tomorrow are we going to see all those on even grid slots diving to the right and it ending in tears?
Oh god that is a good point, better to wait for the first straight or longer second one after the esses to overtake. Maybe all the guys on the inside will have so much wheel spin that the whole outside lane shifts ahead by around 2 places lol. Then we will be seeing a lot of -1 or -2 next to people's names.
I think Schumacher will pass him and Kimi off the line. I hope Hulkenberg and Grosjean have good races, both been quick this weekend and both on the clean side of the grid.
I don't think so, it will be the initial launch where they struggle, once they're away I think they'd be better off trying to hold the inside line for turn 1.
I hope you're right, Fred, but my gut feeling is that Vettel will just steam off into the distance and that'll be that.
Anyone think that Alonso has gone from confident to deluded?, saw him on the highlights show going on about being sure that he will still outscore Vettel tommorow. Now I know that he has to keep the faith as it is only qualifying but surely statements like that only put more pressure on him? And for those of you who think we are in for a boring race Jenson has claimed that you cannot overtake on this track (even though we have never raced here before) and the last time he said that was in Valencia and we all know what happened there...
My gut feeling is this race will be boring and Alonso will finish 8-10th, webber gets the jump on Lewis and that will be the end of it I hope.
It's delusion their race pace was crap! The option was their best tyre, on the prime they are horrible! Alonso was what? 16th fastest on the primes... He has Romain and Button to worry about who are faster than him around here. He also has to watch out for Pastor. You can see Seb is only wary of Lewis and nothing else, Lewis is worried about Seb and his grid slot making him lose the place to Webber. The only way Alonso will take this title to Brazil would be to have the amount of "luck" Seb had at Abu Dhabi.
He can't really turn round after one session and say "yeah we've really ****ed it now". I can remember Hamilton last year changed his mind every couple of days and looked just as mental as Alonso has recently. It's just because they're interviewed so frequently, Alonso will know how bleak it is after yesterday and probably would've preferred not to comment but he's obliged to give an interview after quali so he just stuck to his guns.
Oh and he qualified on scrubbed tyres. Ferrari could be one of the first to pit and get stuck in even more traffic if they're really unlucky.
