Hi I was watching MOD today and was proud and saddened that in the north London derby there three outstanding players who fairly recently had been playing for us as elsewhere there was Dwyer as well, with only Lallana still with us. Couldn't help thinking if things had been different and they were still with us
don't really care I am more excited about Shaw, JWP, Chambers, Stephens, Seager, who could all make it at premier league level.
Yeah, I referred to it earlier myself, when I spoke about seeing Bale, Walcott talking amiably together, after the North London derby, and then seeing Oxlade-Chamberlain walking up to them and exchanging a few words. They weren't friends by accident, they had the Saints connection, and it made me think, what if..? The lesson has to be learned, and I think has been learned by the club. If you want to progress don't allow your best players to leave. All we need now is for some supporters to catch up and believe in the winning mentality instead of being stuck in the past. The club has changed and we have to as well. BTW, it's Nathan DYER, not Dwyer.
The difference is now we don't need money. We have an owner and chairman who know how to handle money. I have confidence that we will not selling players in the future for the money. I love that idea. Makes me more excited about the future and more interested in what the youth teams are doing knowing we will likely be keeping them rather than selling them.
There's a Youtube video recorded from the TV in the first season of the takeover. It involves a couple of pundits and Alan Pardew, and a list of sold Saints players are shown, a few seasons prior to the takeover. You wouldn't believe how much money Saints made from the sales. I'm quite prepared to believe that a person, or persons, from the previous era has neatly smuggled much of that money away. I'll see if I can find the video and I'll come back and amend this post, if I do. EDIT: Found it.
The past is the past. I was actually quite proud to see Theo, Bale and Alex talking to each other at the end of the match. We have produced great players who play attractive football and are still doing it...look at Shaw's performance today.
Why were you watching the Ministry of Defence, and why were these Saints involved with the Ministry of Defence? Puzzles Puzzles
As someone already pointed out, we have a great bunch breaking through, but Shaw & JWP look like brilliant prospects. So when I hear Theo talking about new contract talks with Arsenal, I must admit, I smile a big smile. Theo's dad is getting paid again.
