On history, Wigan is a very difficult game. Each season I hope the voodoo has gone, but we always drop points there.

No idea, haven't looked that far ahead. Either way, we are always frustrating against them.

So, Spurs, Newcastle & Everton all lose today which is good news for us, on the assumption that West Brom & West Ham don't keep up their good form for the rest of the season (not saying it won't happen just unlikely).

Only 5 points off Everton now and with Spurs to play in a couple of weeks, 2 good performances could well put us right in the mix for 5th.

Strange how we beat Norwich, who have beaten Arsenal and are beating Untied at the moment (although with a ref from Manchester officiating the game who knows how much Fergie time or dodgy pens they'll get to help them). Football eh... crazy game.

Also worth noting that when we play Spurs, Everton play Arsenal on the same day <ok>

Next week, Everton at home to Norwich - you'd think they would win that but if Norwich can hold on against United they might get renewed hope.
Newcastle away to Southampton - again before today you'd say Newcastle but Southampton may have the confidence especially at home.
Spurs at home to West Ham who are also going well - need big Andy to cause them some problems and maybe snatch a drew there.

By next Sunday we could be 2 points from Everton in 5th, level with Spurs and a few points from Newcastle if results go our way <ok>

Oh, but we need to beat Swansea of course.

Cracking weekend of results, best one yet. Okay Arsenal won but they're still only 4 points off us. We just need to make sure we don't start ****ing up against smaller teams again!

Anyone else feel a bit sorry for Villa.

They're really struggling.

Not taking the proverbial but if they hold out this year they could get Downing & Young back. We don't like Downing & all the United Boys I know hate Young.

Rumour has it Downing is going to his hometown club Boro in january.

[h=1]Homecoming: Middlesbrough plan January return for unwanted Liverpool winger Downing[/h]17 Nov 2012 23:00Reds are willing to let the England international leave to free up funds for striker Giuseppe Rossi

Down and out: England winger has flopped at Anfield
Andrew Powell

Tony Mowbray is planning a January move to take Stewart Downing back to Teesside, writes the Sunday People.
And Liverpool are eager to do *business to free up funds for a swoop for former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi.
Downing has been a £20million flop at Anfield and Middlesbrough chief Mowbray believes a switch back to the north east would reignite his career.
Click here for more stories from the Sunday People
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers made it clear this week that he wants Downing out during the January *transfer window.
Mowbray thinks a return to the club that sold him to Aston Villa three years ago would be the perfect boost for Boro’s promotion bid.
A move down to the Championship would seem a backward step for a player still in the England squad but Mowbray is convinced he can lure the 28-year-old back to Boro, initially on loan.
Rodgers is desperate for strikers and Rossi, as well as Ivory Coast hit-man Wilfried Bony, is on his radar.
Liverpool have already spoken to Spanish club Valencia, who may be forced to sell Rossi to ease cash problems.
Rossi has already suffered two knee injuries so Liverpool would seek reassurances about his long-term fitness.
Tottenham have been tracking *Rossi and Inter Milan are also monitoring the Italy international.
Vitesse Arnhem striker Bony, top scorer this season in the Dutch league, has been linked with Chelsea but Kop boss Rodgers may yet hijack the deal, even if he brings in Rossi.
Luis Suarez, a massive hit in the Premier League after playing in Holland, is Liverpool’s only fit striker so the Anfield chief needs at least two reinforcements up front.
Bony had trials at Anfield as an 18-year-old five years ago but Rafa Benitez decided against handing him a deal.
Chelsea look favourites to sign Bony, who has been capped 13 times by the Ivory Coast, but Liverpool may steal in if the Londoners are sidetracked by their move for Atletico Madrid sensation Radamel Falcao.
Rossi and Bony are not the only strikers on Rodgers’s short-list. He is still keen on Newcastle star Demba Ba and Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge.

lol remember that one they were a bit unlucky not to qualify yet again for the CL. Maybe one day they will reach the promised land by actually qualifying.
