Now, I do not consider Suarez to a great out and out striker, but I do consider him to be one of the best forward players to have ever played for us. Hell one of the best in the league. Thierry Henry was personally my favourite striker of the premier league era and scored many goals. However, the top goal scorer records go to Alan Shearer and in the closet Ronaldo; they both achieved 31 goals in the premier league. Both of them were also famous for taking penalties (and scoring most of them). Suarez doesn't however. Still, his current stats are 10 goals in 12 games (less than 1/3 of games). If he continues, he would be on for getting about 30 goals. Is it possible? Can he even get the record?
Not so sure myself, players like him (no7 rather than no9) tend to score in bursts. Now I hope that this burst lasts 38 league games but I can just see a dry run at some stage for him.
Know what you are saying, but he did change as a player and although had number 7 on his back he changed into an out and out striker at times for utd and madrid, hence why his assists dropped dramatically. Would be happy is suarez gets any where near his figures.
also if we buy another striker in Jan (which id expect) then we wouldnt haev to put all of the goalscoring pressure on Suarez, seeing as hes scoring a stupidly high percentage of our goals, which should decrease if another striker is brought in
he's better at Goodison, we've played 3 of the last 5 away and he scored in the 1 of the two home games. 5 goals in 11 games off form ain't bad though.
Hadn't noticed the away thing but you have played some pretty **** teams though (including us) and scored a few in them but not even assists from him.
Can't see him breaking the 'Goals in a season' record, pretty sure Shearer and Ronaldo had quite a few penalties to boost their number. As we all know, Suarez doesn't get penalties, if he is even fouled in the box, he gets a yellow.
probably too soon to think about these things. if we had two genuine wide forwards like rodgers wants then i think he might not be the one doing the scoring but the creating.
