I don't think it was Lineker who suggested Liverpool or Newcastle last, I think it was the twats on BBC live feed.

They are if we are losing. We've not had one or two -- we've had none. That's why I'm suggesting it's interesting. Oh, I'm sure they'll be along eventually, even if it's just to say: 'It was only Wigan, FFS! <doh>'

Credit to Martinez on his comment about Watson's leg break, acknowledging that both players were looking at the ball and it was purely an accident. I can think of one classless bastard who would claim Sterling was intentionally trying to break Watson's leg and as a result, should be banned from football for life.

Hope his leg heals quickly, never nice to see people sidelined for long periods of time.

Any one see the "stamp" frmo Suarez that Martinez has refered to? The last thing we need is him to get a retrospective 3 match ban

Yes, but surely they took no action against Huth, ref saw the challenge and never signalled anything.

    Sorry, worded it incorrectly.

Oh, do you mean they would have said something like that?

If I'm honest, it was unintentional. He went for the ball and missed, his studs made contact with the Wigan player's boot and the player was up and walking around after a few seconds.

Yes, I have amended the original. It has been a long day.

It was a late challenge, the kind you see in most matches. To be fair, it was borderline red.

That BBC report came from Ben Smith, who seems to regularly talk down Liverpool whenever he can. When he does the minute by minute any text or tweet critical of Liverpool will be published.

  14. It wasn't a stamp, Suarez stood on his foot. No intent but should have been a yellow <yikes>

Suarez goes for the ball and it is played at the last moment so Suarez stands on the opponent's toe. The kind of thing that happens several times in every football game and would never get a yellow card except if it was for persistent fouling.

We see challenges like that every week, can't see him getting three match ban especially since the ref saw it and allowed play to continue.

Yeah. First half was tight, but we probably engineered more chances than Wigan (about 3, including a long shot from Suso).

Second half we were much better and could have had a couple more goals than we did. Stand out performances from Suarez and Enrique. Everybody else had a solid game and Reina got a clean sheet. Definitely worth a watch on match of the day. ;)<ok>
