Looked a completely different player out there today. Looked quite good pushed forward as part of the front 3 even. Tracked back and defended well. He deserved his goal. Lets celebrate in his turn around of form and that yet another player is better than Downing in 'his' position.
Since he returned from injury he has looked like the player he was at the beginning of last season. Now we have great cover at both full backs in Wisdom, Enrique, Johnson and Kelly when he returns from injury
Some positives from today: 1. 3-0 win at Anfield. 2. Suarez is on fire. 3. Enrique is on fire, first goal too. 4. Sterling is on fire. 5. Henderson looked fantastic, composed and created chances. 6. BR showing some good tactical decisions 7. Wisdom looks great. 8. Johnson looks great. 9. Clean sheet 10. Youth playing well after being thrown into the deep end, as opposed to last season. 11. Reina is back 12. Lucas is back 13. 7 match PL unbeaten streak Any more?
I've given him some stick recently so fair play to him. Hopefully he can build on this and cement his position.
First half was pretty slow, didn't create to much apart from a long ranged shot from Suso. Second half we scored early, and after that we were brilliant and played some clever football, could of been more than 3, Sterling, Enrique and Suarez all dangerous.
He's got a change of acceleration that has opened up teams when he cuts in. His passing has improved though the run of the forward is as important as the ability of the supplier. Suarez made the right runs off of Enrique and Sterling was a player playing well beyond his 17 years today
Could Sterling, Suarez and Enrique be our best front three? Enrique, Borini, Suso, Assaidi, Downing, Cole, Morgan, Yesil. First 4 of those options are positive.
I reckon Enrique has earnt that left wing position for now at least. Him and Johnson down that side worked quite well, as Enrique can cover Johnson quite well when Johnson went forward. this also means Downing is not in BRs plans at all. Also, Suarez and Sterling and linking up very well, lots of good one twos and they seemed on the same wavelength. Lots of positives from the game. Only negative is the Suso injury although I dont think it looked serious
I have always been extremely harsh on Jose Enrique, because I remember his MotM performance at the emirates last season and, as far as I was concerned, he failed to match that level of performance ever since, but now he is starting to show that kind of form again. I am especially impressed with the way he has linked up with Suarez in the last couple of games with some lovely through balls. It's like he instinctively knows where Suarez is going when he prepares to pass.
So much of sport is mental, today will have done the world of good to Enriques confidence which has been very low over the 6 months,he also adds in that with Sterling,Suarez,Jose, we have serious pace on the counter attack, and he offers Pepe a good option long when Agger,Allen and Skrtle have all been picked up
Any sites outside of footytube that have an extended viewing of todays games or MOTD??? Want to catch the game before I hit the hay.
fair enough, a bit more to come from sterling i think. I'd add henderson came on and showed some ability Add agger is not injured and finally wigan get another beating to hopefulyl add to their relegation season.
